Review - The Mystery of the Spirits by C.S. Poe
My rating:
Sebastian Snow has been very good about minding his own antiques business and staying out of his husband Calvin Winter's police business. That is, until Calvin's boss comes to him with a rare object from the 1850s that was found at the scene of a murder. So, once again, Sebastian is drawn into a series of bizarre crimes. Will he solve them before he becomes a victim himself? And will his marriage survive another foray into the dangers of crime?

Review - Wed to the Barbarian by Keira Andrews
My rating:
Although a prince of one of Onan's three kingdoms, “Jem” leads a quiet life, reading erotic fantasies and caring for sick birds. He carries out few public duties and knows little of the world outside his family's palace. On one of his rare outings to attend an annual religious festival with his family, Jem is quite bored until the cleric announces that he is to wed the son of a chieftain from the estranged territory of Ergh.

Review - Cherish by Lexi Ander
My rating:
Kindly note that some of the more interesting aspects of this story are hard to discuss without revealing a few details of the plot. The GyrFalconi of Aires 7 have lived in relative isolation for hundreds of years; the technology that bought them across two galaxies to their new planet largely forgotten. That leaves them totally unprepared to fight off the Terrens who invade their planet to mine the rich deposits of an high energy crystal, enslaving large numbers of the GyrFalconi to work the mines.

Review - Revelations by Gillibran Brown
My rating:
This long-time-coming sequel to Christmas at Leo's sees the repercussions from the events of that book come to fruition. Things continue to be tense between Gili and the two men he shares a relationship with, Dick and “Daddy” Shane. The young man begins to seriously question whether or not there's a future for him in the household that's become the closest thing to a home he's had. This sixth book of the series (not counting the many shorts also released) seems to be the culmination of the core story arc.
Review - Rescuing the Bounty Hunter's Pet by Dani Gray
My rating:
Kayel is a bounty hunter, working just inside the law, most of the time. That makes him a good candidate for a secret mission to a restricted planet where illegal slaves — ‘pets’ — from Earth and other worlds are being kept. The king wants to bring about an end to the slavery and bring the high ranking perpetrators to justice, but do it without harming the slaves. Kayel's mission will be to infiltrate the operation, gather intelligence, and plan the operation to free the captives.
Review - Stubborn Boys by K.M. Neuhold
My rating:
Alden is the last of the three partners in his charitable investment company to still be single. His two friends have already found boys to fulfill their Daddy desires. Alden has had his eye on Gannon, their assistant, but isn't sure if the man is even interested, let alone willing to be a boy to Alden's daddy. However, it's obvious to everyone that Gannon has a thing for Nolan, except for Nolan himself.

Review - Genie in a Vodka Bottle by Rob Rosen
My rating:
Paul is on his way to Spain, on a vacation he booked with his now ex-boyfriend and forgot to cancel. Through a series of seemingly random encounters, Paul ends up in Gibraltar and then Morocco, where a bartender insists on serving him a bottle of vodka, which just happens to hold a genie. Once the magical being is released, the fun really begins, taking Paul, the genie, and even Paul's ex on a ride around the world and back in time.
Review - Ansariland by J. Alan Veerkamp
My rating:
In a dystopian future where the gulf between rich and poor is even greater (if you can imagine that), Arad is a “slug” — the common slang term for someone who's poor, homeless, and assumed to be uneducated. They are considered the dregs of society, and there are a lot of them. Most work is mechanized so jobs are scarce. The challenge is especially hard for Arad, whose true identity has been erased.
