Review - Livid Skies by SI Clarke

My rating:

The years of planning, meetings, and after-work discussions in the White Hart pub are over, and now it's almost time for the remainder of the colonists to land on Mars to put their plans for a self-sustaining Mars colony into action. But while the team may have left Earth behind and planned for a queer-friendly cruelty-free society, they're still bringing all their human faults with them. Not only do they face harsh conditions and natural disasters, there are also the kinds conflicts that come all to easily to humanity.

Review - Devon's Island by SI Clarke

My rating:

Earth, or more precisely, humanity, is headed for disaster. Seeing little chance that things will change, a mysterious consortium of nations and rich individuals decides to secretly build a colony on Mars, so that if the worst happens on Earth, humanity will survive. Two married scientists are hired to manage the project. They, and the team they assemble, have to come up with answers to some tough questions about how to ensure a human colony, which they have to assume will be cut off from Earth, can be viable.

Review - Fragments by Zen DiPietro

My rating:

The second book of the Dragonfire Station series picks up right where the first book, Translucid, left off. Fallon has reunited with her team, although not her memories, and together they have set off to earth to try and solve the mystery of why her team was split up, and her memories seemingly erased. This middle book in the series gives us a lot more insight into the main characters, although there’s no shortage of action as well.

Review - Translucid by Zen DiPietro

My rating:

Emé Fallon wakes up the infirmary of Dragonfire Station after a minor shuttle accident. Her injuries were mostly minor, except for a head injury that seems to have robbed her of some of her memories. She remembers how to do her job as security chief but she doesn’t remember anything about her past, her coworkers, or even her wife of six months. As she returns to work and tries to relearn her past, she begins to feel that things don’t add up.

Review - Lost Boi by Sassafras Lowrey

My rating:

This review was originally published in slightly different form at BDSM Book Reviews. Note: This book is a bit of a departure from the books I normally review. You have been warned! “Lost Boi” reimagines the classic tale of “Peter Pan” in kinky queer terms. Pan is a biological woman with a strong male identity - a boi. He is the unquestioned leader of the lost bois, a group of homeless youth Pan has found on the streets and brought to Neverland, which is really just an abandoned warehouse in which they are squatters.
