Liam may have left the military, but memories of his last assignment as a sniper still haunt his dreams. When the nightmares are especially terrible, Liam turns to his old friend and commanding officer, Duncan. The pain the dominant sadist can dish out is the only thing that can get submissive Liam's mind off the past. Liam is the security officer of the ship Santa Claus commanded by Duncan. It's a merchant vessel making cargo runs between planets and also carries a few passengers.

You'd think our two heroes would be happy. Alle is free and back among his people, many of whom expect him to become king when his ailing father dies. Gaius no longer needs to worry about anyone finding out Alle's true identity and can focus on becoming the next emperor of Rome. The problem is that both of them miss each other. When it becomes clear that Alle's destiny is not to be king, he hatches a plan that may reunite him with Gaius and maybe even offer the Dacian prince a chance to kill the emperor.

My rating:
Becket and Christian have been doing scenes together for a while. They both want to take things further, but Becket's work for the security services makes his schedule unpredictable. Just when they're starting to work things out, a terrorist bomb turns everything on its head. The incident provides the catalyst both men need to consider what's really important. Both of the main characters appeared in the earlier books of the series.

Valerius is dead. He watched himself pass away through the eyes of a golem his mind was copied into. The new body may be free of the physical and genetic defects that made his old life so hard, but his thoughts are still on the mysteries he never got to solve. Gray is a college senior in a small town on the Washington coast. He's on his way home one evening when he's accosted by two men who drug him and bundle him into the trunk of their car. He spends what feels like months being shuttled from place to place, along with several other young me. They're treated like cattle, only occasionally being let out of cages to be hosed down and use a bathroom.

Fifteen-year-old Tar rescues eight-year-old Merrick from a burning house, which his father was robbing before setting fire to it. Things go from bad to worse when Tar's father leaves the two boys to fend for themselves. He doesn't know that Tar has surreptitiously transferred a book from the stolen loot to his own bag. What starts as a bit of adventure for the two soon turns nasty when a group of evil faeries come looking for the book.

Bryant has been working, albeit unwillingly, for one of the criminal gangs that operate on the space station for many years, so he’s no stranger to breaking the law. However, burglary isn’t one of the things he’s had a lot of practice at. But, he needs money quickly to keep his daughter from being shipped out to a prison planet, and stealing a small trinket from a fancy ship in the dock seems like the easiest way to get it.

Cyrus and Nadir have been friends since they were in their teens. The two orphans were living on the street when they met and formed a partnership that kept them safe and fed for many years. It wasn't until they were caught stealing from an unscrupulous merchant and chose life as pleasure slaves in the palace over the dungeon that they realized they were in love. It's difficult to be lovers when your ‘job’ is to be the sexual plaything of whichever noble chooses you for the night, but the two men manage to find ways to be together over the years, despite the attempts of the cruel old ruler.
