Now that it's clear that Matt/Sköll, along with the other three Alphas of All, have risen to meet the threat from Völsung, the young man wants to learn more about the history of the Vargr, Cubi, and Sleipnir and how they came to be allies along with the humans.

Once upon a time, in the magical realm where fairies, elves, ogres, and others once lived in peace alongside humans, a powerful sorceress emerged. Never content with what she had, the woman sought even more power by stealing it from others, killing them in the process. The sorceress served a king whose castle was built on an ancient wellspring of magic, but in truth, she only served herself. She bore a son not out of love but as a tool to further her plans for more power.

Review - Regi's Goddess by Lyn Gala
My rating:
Regi continues to wrestle with the idea that he has been "noticed" by one of the many gods his people believe in. What's more, he thinks the human Dante has been favored by the same goddess, and that's something that the xenophobic Kowri would never accept. Navigating the complex politics of his people's religious leaders to keep Dante and the rest of his Coalition crewmates safe proves to be quite challenging.

Review - Hardwood by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes
My rating:
Unlike his brothers, Malcolm has no problem being an incubus. His father may be an evil bastard, but at least he's a rich evil bastard who can buy Malcolm nice clothes and get them into clubs where there are lots of pretty humans to pick from. It's a long way from the squalor he grew up in with his drug-addict mother, and Malcolm has no intention of going back. Kosta is a siren who has turned his back on his kind.
Review - Settling His Dette by Lilo Quie
My rating:
Gabriel seems unable to produce viable eggs, and to the drakes that effectively purchased him, that's all a dette is good for, producing pups. Sacha is the only one of the drakes that seems to care about Gabriel, but even he can't fight it if the current clutch he carries turns out to be blanks. When a doctor tells him that the two eggs are indeed blanks, Gabriel runs away, lays the eggs, disposes of them in a dumpster, and escapes into the wilderness to live among the wild dragons.

The Boa Visk are a race of reptilian warriors who have conquered and enslaved much of the human population of the continent. General Tav is one of the men leading the fight to free the human race. His current target is a walled city where the Boa Visk installed seneschal has refused to surrender. Seneschal Duric doesn't want to fight, but he knows that if he attempts to surrender the city, his Boa Visk minders will simply kill him and install someone else.

Charley is on the run from the biker gang he works for because they think he killed one of their members. The young man may be a bit odd, but he's no killer. When Charley runs across a country lane trying to escape his pursuers, he's nearly run over by Luc's SUV. The slightly older Luc is instantly attracted to Charley and sympathetic to his problem, so he offers to help out.

Declan is not your typical incubus. He lives a largely isolated life in the penthouse he shares with his siblings and doesn't go out to 'hunt' humans. When he can no longer resist the need to 'feed,' he orders a sex worker to satisfy his hunger. Never the same one twice to avoid the inevitable attachment a human would feel for his kind. The one thing that can lure Declan outside is the sea.

Many years ago, Eer let the love of their life leave the village to find their calling as a truth-seeker. Eer understood why Kat had to go away but couldn't bring themselves to abandon the community they'd come to call home. It was a decision they'd often regretted. Now, Kat has returned to the village and bought a troubled young man with them. It seems that Willim isn't the only stranger in the area.
Review - Broken Things by Barbara Elsborg

Fifteen-year-old Tar rescues eight-year-old Merrick from a burning house, which his father was robbing before setting fire to it. Things go from bad to worse when Tar's father leaves the two boys to fend for themselves. He doesn't know that Tar has surreptitiously transferred a book from the stolen loot to his own bag. What starts as a bit of adventure for the two soon turns nasty when a group of evil faeries come looking for the book.
