Review - Defending the Guard's Pet Hacker by Dani Gray

My rating: * * *

Young hacker Xed is kidnapped along with his family and is forced to break into government systems to steal information. The people holding him are brutal and have demonstrated they will stop at nothing, including murder, to make Xed do what they want. The young man is bright, and while he steals information, it's not the sensitive data the kidnappers really want. All the while, he's looking for ways to get a message through to someone who can rescue him and his family.

book cover for Jocks for Sale (1 - 3)

Review - Jocks for Sale Parts 1 - 3 by Josh Hunter

My rating: * * * *

“Jocks For Sale” is an erotic fantasy containing non-consensual sex and brutality. It is offered in serialized form as ten connected installments. I'm reviewing it in batches, so there's a more coherent picture of the entire story. Part 1 of this 10-part series opens with college jock Conner enjoying spring break in Cancun with three of his fraternity brothers. They're all focused on bedding as many women as possible. Usually, Conner would be too, but he's become fixated on Jake, a freshman from his lacrosse team that Conner has become obsessed with.

His comrades have all died in battle, leaving Graitaan alone among the humans and their Finnarian allies. Graitaan has no great love for the humans, but he dislikes the Finnarirans even more, one of them being his commander, Sadan. Still, he has a soldier's honor, fights for the king, and obeys his commander's orders.

Landry works in a Seattle antiques store for an older Chinese man who knows his stuff and is teaching the young man his trade. It isn't easy, since Landry can be a bit scatterbrained, no doubt due to the large amounts of coffee and pastries he can consume. One day, Landry is alone in the shop when he is visited by police detective Gage, who is on the trail of some artworks stolen from a traveling exhibit in Japan.
