Content warning: The book in this review contains non-consensual sex. Drake is rich, titled, and entitled. He doesn't like mixing with people he considers beneath him. The pair may have thought the past could be put behind them, but a new threat emerges to endanger their happily ever after. This ninth installment concludes the Tales from The Edge series more or less where it began, with Joe and Olly.
Review - Sparks in the Dark by James Siewert

“Buzz” is an ex-space marine who now works private security gigs for the human-centered coalition of allied planets. Thomas Cutter is an engineer with a reputation for getting difficult jobs done. “Cutter” also isn't exactly what he appears to be. Buzz is enjoying a little R&R after a recent job when he meets Cutter, and the sparks fly between the two. Both end up working on a salvage mission together.

When his parent's latest investment scheme goes sour, they skip town with all the money, leaving Saint to deal with a group of angry investors out for blood. With no money to leave town himself, Saint takes on an assumed name and finds work as a waiter in a restaurant.

His father and older brother work down in the mines, which is where Joey will probably end up. He would rather be an artist, but nobody believes he can make a living from it, and they can't afford to send him to school anyway.

The operation to take out the mastermind of the human trafficking operation has gone sideways. Now, Gray is heading to the abandoned brothel, not knowing if Darius is alive or dead. Gray is sure the man who rescued him was the one he was going to spend the rest of his life with, so he has no idea what he'll do if Darius doesn't make it. It's time to put all his training to work.

On his day off, Rich decides to drop in on his friend Liam. Upon arriving at the converted super yacht that serves as Liam's laboratory, Rich finds his friend tied up and apparently being tortured by someone he doesn't know. If there's one thing that can overcome Rich's extreme aversion to violence, it's seeing one of his friends being hurt. Fortunately, Liam manages to calm Rich down before he can do any real damage to Jordan, another friend of Liam's that knows the young scientist likes it rough.
