Review - Boys Don't Cry by J.K. Hogan
My rating:
Just a few weeks short of graduation, Mackenzie is evicted from his apartment, so it can be torn down to make way for a new development. He doesn’t have the time, or more importantly the money, to find a decent new place; not until he graduates and starts working. His best friend Taylor drags Mackenzie to a work drinks party, where one of the coworkers, Laurent, offers him a place to stay.
Review - Going Deep by Silvia Violet
My rating:
This last book of the “Fitting In” series returns to the original threesome of Jack, Gray and Mason. This time we get the story from Gray’s point of view. Now a detective, he is faced with the puzzling murder of a teenage girl, who may have been forced into prostitution by a notorious crime boss, yet there are precious few clues as to who is responsible. When another girl turns up dead, the pressure mounts to find some clues.
Review - Feral Dust Bunnies by Angel Martinez
My rating:
This fourth book of the Offbeat Crimes series puts the focus on Wolf, the 77th precinct’s not-werewolf. Although raised by humans, Wolf still has a hard time understanding the subtilties of the world he was thrust into, especially relationships. He is effectively pansexual. Like most canids, Wolf follows his nose, and animal control officer Jason Chen smells good enough to make Wolf forget how to human. The two are thrown together frequently on Wolf’s current case, which involves the discovery of several desiccated small animals around town.
Review - The Master Will Appear by L.A. Witt
My rating:
Experienced fencer Mikhail takes an instant dislike to brash newcomer Ryan. The aggressive young man has talent, but no discipline. And if there’s one thing Mikhail knows, it’s discipline, whether it be on the piste or in the bedroom. Mikhail decides to teach the cocky fencer a lesson and challenges him to a match. He isn’t surprised when he wins easily, but he is surprised when a contrite Ryan asks Mikhail to give him lessons.
Review - Limitless by SJD Peterson
My rating:
Experienced Dominant Nash finds himself curiously fascinated with Joshua, a new submissive at the Underground Club. Unfortunately, Joshua belongs to Troy, a truly sadistic Dom that Nash has always disliked. When his curiosity gets the better of him and Nash asks around, he finds that the young sub has a reputation for taking extreme pain and not safewording. It’s almost enough to scare Nash off. But still, there’s something about Joshua that makes him think he might be the kind of Dom the sub needs.
Review - Intersections: Dragonfire Station Short Stories by Zen DiPietro
My rating:
This collection of short stories takes place in the universe built through the Dragonfire Station series. Most of the tales would best be described as backstories for many of the secondary characters introduced in the series. Some stories tell us how the people got to where we meet them in the series, while others might be better described as simply a slice of life in a person’s day, giving us more insight into pivotal moments of the characters or the series.

Review - Imagines by N.R. Walker
My rating:
This sequel to Imago picks up a few months after the first book ends. Jack and Lawson are in a committed relationship, although still maintaining separate homes because Lawson thinks it’s “too soon” for them to live together. An invitation to Cairns for Lawson to help save an endangered species of butterfly may be a chance for the two to spend more time together. Will vacationing as a couple make or break them?
Review - Rising Beauty by Meraki P. Lyhne
My rating:
Note: This is the third book in the Cubi series. These stories follow closely on each other, so if you haven’t read the first two books, you won’t have any idea what’s going on. As this third installment of the Cubi series opens, Daniel is still trying to wrap his head around the latest revelation to turn his life upside down. Not only is he becoming an incubus, he is destined to become the king of the North American cubi.
Review - Exposed by Bey Deckard
My rating:
Greg is talented amateur photographer with a dominant streak, although he keeps it carefully under wraps after a rather painful experience in his past. Quite by accident on a trip to London from his home in Canada, he meets Emyr, an up and coming Welsh singer about half Greg’s age. He is inexplicably drawn to the young man, yet the age difference and his own demons keep him from letting things go anywhere.

Review - Burning Up by Silvia Violet
My rating:
The third installment of the “Fitting In” series turns the focus on a minor character introduced in the previous book. Bryce is a fireman recently moved to town for a new start. Things are going well, although he finds two men on his shift, Toby and Matt, very attractive. But, they already seem to be a couple, and they’re much younger than Bryce; oh, and he’s their supervisor, so a relationship seems out of the question.
