Review - Restricted by A.C. Thomas
My rating:
Doctor Aristotle ‘Ari’ Campbell is a scientist from the Core world of Britannia. As such, he's more used to the ivory towers of academia than the rough and tumble worlds on the Verge, where a barrier supposedly keeps out the ruffians of restricted space. He's only there because he's desperate to find his kidnapped twin brother Theo. To help him navigate the Verge and the restricted space beyond, Ari enlists the aid of Orin, a down on his luck pilot in desperate need of work and a ship.

Review - Sort Of Dead by Rob Rosen
My rating:
Nord wakes up in a strange place. “Wakes up” being not quite the right expression, since Nord is dead. Shot in the head while sitting at his desk. Only, this strange place isn’t heaven, apparently. It isn’t the other place either. It’s more like a giant departure hall full of people waiting to move on. Befriended by Max, another dead man, it soon becomes clear that perhaps this is the place where the recently departed who have unfinished business wait.
Review - The Wish by Eden Winters
My rating:
They say ghosts are people who died with unfinished business. Byron’s rather unusual desire is to see his nephew and his partner’s nephew together. The two young men were like sons to the two older men, and it’s both their desires to see Paul and Alex get along. To say it’s not going to be easy would be an understatement. Alex is the very model of an rich entitled young man.

Review - Obsexsion by Matt Converse
My rating:
Michael has retired his “Matt Jaxx” stripper persona and now lives in domestic bliss with his boyfriend Justin. But life isn’t perfect. Michael is still plagued by nightmares of the deranged stalker he dubbed “The Creeper”. He just has to console himself that his attacker is safely behind bars. When Justin gets a gig modeling in Paris for six months, both men wonder what it means for their budding relationship, but agree it’s too good an opportunity for Justin to pass up.

Review - The Arcane Heart by Caroline Gibson
My rating:
Warning: If you haven’t already read the first two books of this series, this review of the third may contain spoilers about what happens in them. Crown Prince Lonn is on a far away world quelling a rebellion when he senses a powerful magical presence nearby. In the unsavory depths of a market he finds a witch selling a slave. The wretched man in a cage is the source of the power Lonn senses, although he doesn’t understand it.

Review - Pieces of Me by N.R. Walker
My rating:
Kindly note: This sequel starts directly after the ending of the first book, and picks up with the same characters right where they left off. If you haven’t read the first installment of this series, be prepared for spoilers. When last we left our two lovers, Justin had just had a sort of breakthrough. He still has no memory of Dallas, but the meaning of the dreams his subconscious has been giving him is finally clear: Dallas really is where he is supposed to be.

Review - The Walls Between Hearts by L.A. Witt
My rating:
After burying two partners, Terry isn’t interested in another relationship. He doesn’t want to face the possibility of going through the loss of another man he was close to. Gene feels much the same way. He hasn’t had to face the death of a partner, but after two divorces and a lot of failed relationships, he’s not looking for love. Friends with benefits might be nice, though. When Terry and Gene meet at a Las Palmas Fencing Club event, there’s an instant attraction, and since neither of them is looking for a relationship, they think they’ve found just what they’re looking for.

Review - Paid to Kneel by Romilly King
My rating:
It has recently been alleged on Twitter that this book was plagiarized from another work. I’ve decided to leave this review up for now, but note that the work has already been pulled from online outlets. In a possible near future where prostitution is legal, but tightly controlled, selling yourself to make money becomes a much more viable option, and Richard needs money. A lot of it, if he’s to afford a nice care facility for his father in failing health and yet stay in school.
Review - Vampire's Indulgence by Drake LaMarque
My rating:
Note: This series is very much designed to be read in order. If you haven’t read the first book, then this review may contain spoilers. Cedric is back aboard the Devil’s Whore sailing back to the Caribbean with his two lovers, Captain Lucifer and the vampire Dante, along with his former tutor Oliver, who Cedric has long had a crush on, which both men are planning on exploring further. Although seemingly safe for now, everyone knows the cult that tried to sacrifice Cedric is not going to give up trying to get him back and use him to fulfill their plans to bring an ancient evil one into this world.
