Review - Edging Closer by L.M. Somerton
My rating:
The countdown is on to Joe and Olly's big day. After years together, they're going to get married. There's lots to do. Outfits to plan. Cupcakes to order. What could go wrong? Plenty, it seems. The pair may have thought the past could be put behind them, but a new threat emerges to endanger their happily ever after. This ninth installment concludes the Tales from The Edge series more or less where it began, with Joe and Olly.
Review - Sparks in the Dark by James Siewert
My rating:
“Buzz” is an ex-space marine who now works private security gigs for the human-centered coalition of allied planets. Thomas Cutter is an engineer with a reputation for getting difficult jobs done. “Cutter” also isn't exactly what he appears to be. Buzz is enjoying a little R&R after a recent job when he meets Cutter, and the sparks fly between the two. Both end up working on a salvage mission together.

Content warning: The book in this review contains dubious consent and incest. Saint is the eldest son of one of the city's wealthiest and most powerful families. When his parent's latest investment scheme goes sour, they skip town with all the money, leaving Saint to deal with a group of angry investors out for blood. With no money to leave town himself, Saint takes on an assumed name and finds work as a waiter in a restaurant.

Review - Run Wild, Run Free by Fiona Glass
My rating:
Joey just turned eighteen, although nobody in his family seems to have taken notice. They're all too busy trying to eke out a living in a 1950s Welsh mining town. His father and older brother work down in the mines, which is where Joey will probably end up. He would rather be an artist, but nobody believes he can make a living from it, and they can't afford to send him to school anyway.

Review - Garden of Mysteries by Drake LaMarque
My rating:
Alistair is looking forward to starting the new term at school with his three boyfriends. Two new professors have been bought in with a view to potentially helping the young man finally break the curse on one of his lovers, William. Unfortunately, there still seems to be someone at the college determined to get Alistair in trouble, or worse. “Garden of Mysteries” is the second and concluding story of the Misselthwaite College series.

Review - Find the Jinn by Maz Maddox
My rating:
Dallas Wilde is a paid assassin, and fish trainer. He takes on many dirty jobs, like tracking down and killing a necromancer, which is what he's doing when we first meet him. That job does not end as successfully as Dallas thinks, and his next assignment from a wealthy succubus proves to be a challenge. To make matters worse, Dallas seems to have inherited a vampire thrall that insists on being his bodyguard.
