“Jocks For Sale” is an erotic fantasy containing non-consensual sex and violence. It is offered in serialized form as connected installments (14 in total). I'm reviewing it in batches, so there's a more coherent picture of the entire story.

It seems like it was a long wait, but more episodes of this serial finally appeared and now they’ve made it to the top of my reading list. The last installment (Part 11) ended with a sort of failed coup on the island which saw the Boss’s second in command, Luca, being made a slave. In Part 12, “Learning His Place,” Cody has the pleasure of “training” Luca. It’s payback time for all the pain and humiliation the former master put Cody and the other young men through. But Luca’s knowledge of the inner workings of the island may be the key to helping Cody and the others escape. The problem is, can Cody trust Luca?

In Part 13, Cody’s plan to get off the island starts to come together. He needs Luca’s help to make it happen, but still can’t trust the man. This episode is titled “Double Cross” so you know somebody’s plan is going to go sideways. Will it be Cody’s or Luca’s, or maybe the Boss?

Cody’s risky plan to free himself and the others unfolds in Part 14, “Checkmate.” It’s a dangerous endeavor. If it fails, Cody and the other young men could end up dead, or worse, they will get “adjusted” and be little more than flesh-and-blood sex dolls. If they succeed, Cody can go back to being Conner again and pick up his old life as a “straight” college senior.

It’s been a long haul, but the series is finally at a satisfactory end, although the author leaves a little wiggle room in the last scene for a sequel. Be warned that the ending gets a little bloody. The biggest downside of serialized stories like this is that they tend to drag on for longer that I would like. As I noted in my review of the previous batch of episodes, the sex has become repetitive and unsexy. It’s hard enough to make non-consensual sex arousing, and repetition doesn’t help.

The dramatic ups and downs of the story have been more successful, but even they got a little anti-climatic after a while, seeing every attempt to find a way off the island thwarted. All of this goes to reinforce the notion that serials are not for me. They’re great for the author, since they make more money if people read the entire series, but for a reader like me, they’re not worth the effort. The concept of the series was interesting in a titillating way, but it really didn't support such a drawn-out story.
