Review - Dearly Despised by Alessandra Hazard
My rating:
Samir was raised to take the throne after his ‘cousins’ were presumably killed by rebels. But the eldest prince, Warrehn, wasn't killed by the rebels; he was protected by them. The real villain was Samir's mother, who it seems will stop at nothing to see Warrehn dead and her son on the throne. When Warrehn reappears to claim his birthright, he knows but can't prove that Samir's mother was responsible for the death of his parents.

Review - Oren's Right by Blaine D. Arden
My rating:
Forester Veld has been enamored of baker Oren for a long time. But Oren was bonded with Haram, and the healer didn't share, so Veld did his best to remain just friends with both of them. When Haram is killed in an apparent hunting accident, Veld wants to be there for Oren but also needs to respect the customary mourning period. However, that becomes quite difficult when it's clear that the villagers don't understand the unique nature of the relationship that Oren and Haram had.
Review - Barons of Oartheca by James Siewert
My rating:
Having been turned over to the CAPS-N, Rowland soon finds out that his years as a rogue haven't been what he thought they were, and his two closest friends were not what they seemed. Meanwhile, Rowland's newfound lover Toar is nearly home to Oarthica when those bastards, the Pryok'tel, attack the ship and kidnap him. Rowland is forced to turn to his friends to help rescue Toar. This sequel to Allure of Oartheca is another classic space opera.

Review - What If? by Barbara Elsborg
My rating:
Garrett is a fae who works in his father's Christmas shop, making magical toys and sometimes dealing with faeries who have broken the rules while in the human realm. One day his store is visited by Crispin, an apparently human young man about Garrett's age who shouldn't be able to see or enter the shop, but does so anyway. They spend a magical day together, and Garrett gives Crispin a specially created bee that should be able to lead Crispin back to the store when it reopens the following year.

One of the company's clients is a wealthy businessman who keeps a ‘herd’ of male slaves and has been accused of murdering one of them. Lucas becomes fascinated by the idea of extreme submission, as well as the man, Master Forrest, when they finally meet. The young man is increasingly drawn into the world of kink, but can he really trust his new master with his life?

Review - Jocks for Sale Parts 8 - 11 by Josh Hunter
My rating:
“Jocks For Sale” is an erotic fantasy containing non-consensual sex and violence. It is offered in serialized form as connected installments (currently 11). I'm reviewing it in batches, so there's a more coherent picture of the entire story. Cody seems to be enjoying new privileges in Part 8. He's been given the job of training the ‘new boy’ Dane. Dane was a guest of the hotel who managed to insult all the staff and abuse all the slaves with his temperamental, entitled behavior.
