Review - Malena MCD by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Mauve is a ‘pet,’ a genetically engineered sex slave, and not a fancy one, either. His genes didn't produce quite what the breeders hoped for, so he ended up in the bargain bin. He's had a succession of brutal, uncaring owners from the underbelly of Malicorn society who used him and passed him on when they became bored. His latest master has been shot dead, along with his gang of thugs, and so Mauve is now ‘evidence’ in the investigation.

Review - Calarni by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Yaden and Ivan are off on another mission for the Lotus Knights. This time they're off to explore a new star system that's been found at the end of one of the gateways ships use to jump between systems. It seems simple enough, but Lotus Knight missions never go according to plan. Things go sideways rather spectacularly this time, and the pair find themselves in another galaxy with no apparent way home, or to even contact their friends.

Review - Red Claws, Blue Ink by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Please note: The authors kindly supplied an advance review copy of this book for review. The book is due to be released on May 27, 2021 and may be purchased from Amazon using the link below. Newly minted Circle of Thales agent Rene is ready for his first assignment. Even as training missions go, this one seems very tame. He just has to get copies of reports about an old werewolf attack from a small village on the planet Shiraz, then pick up some books the Circle purchased at auction from an island estate on Gui Lin.

Review - The Bloodied Broom by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Warning: If you haven't read previous books in this series, this review of the fourth will contain some spoilers. Colin and Yaden are settling into life with their found family; father figure Darius, younger brother Ivan and newly adopted Myriam, who is turning into a precocious teenager. Ivan and Yaden still go on potentially dangerous missions as Lotus Knights, leaving Colin behind to worry about whether or not they'll come back this time.

My rating:
Please note: The authors kindly supplied an advance pre-press copy of this book for review. The book is due to be released on October 15, 2020 and may be purchased from Amazon using the link below. Like the rest of his family, Rene is a member of the Circle of Thales, a secretive society of intellectuals that lives in vast caverns below the surface of the planet Floor. Unlike his family, and most of the Circle, Rene does not object to making occasional trips to the surface of the planet, which is dominated by commercial enterprises.

Review - The Pet and His Duke by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Robert was born and raised to be a “pet”, a pleasure slave trained to satisfy his master’s every sexual demand. It’s an unsettled life with no permanence. Masters can grow bored and trade him in, or gift him to someone else to curry favor, or he can be stolen by another jealous owner. All that and more has happened to Robert in his time, and now he’s back in a trader’s “inventory” to be sold on again, yet he’s all too aware that at his age he is well past his amuse-by date.

Review - The Renegade Psion by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Warning: If you haven’t read previous book in this series, this review of the third will contain some spoilers. With the addition of his squire Ivan, Yaden’s small apartment in the Lotus Knight’s compound is getting rather crowded. Unfortunately, he will have to leave it to his fiance Colin to sort out new living arrangements, since Yaden and Ivan have to go on an urgent mission to deal with a psion causing havoc on another planet.

Review - The Windmines of Bora Bora by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
Ivan was supposed to be a powerful pyrokinetic psion. He has all the right genes but could never make them work. That becomes the least of his problems when his psychopathic half-sister kills their father and attempts to make Ivan her pet slave. Frustrated by Ivan’s repeated refusal to give her the love she thinks she deserves, the sister finally consigns her brother to the windmines of Bora Bora, a desolate place where the life expectancy for slaves is less than a few years.

Review - The Demon of Hagermarsh by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus
My rating:
In a distant future when humanity is spread throughout many planets of the galaxy, Yaden is a young Lotus Knight on his first big mission. The knights are the elite representatives of the Emperor sent on missions to resolve conflicts or assist with natural disasters. All of them were born with special powers. Yaden’s is the ability to control earthly forces. He’s been sent to the village of Hagermarsh, on the forbidding planet of Leichman to investigate what seems to be demonic forces at work.
