book cover for Submission Times Two

Review - Submission Times Two by Claire Thompson

My rating: * * * *

Ethan and Cam are very much in love and have been in a committed relationship for a year. There’s just one problem: They both have strong submissive desires — that’s how they met, in a BDSM club in New York — and neither one of them has enough of a dominant streak to give the other the kind of emotional high they get from submitting. They’ve made do participating in sexless scenes with wannabe Doms at different clubs, but for Ethan, at least, it isn’t quite satisfying his submissive urges.

book cover for Broken Halo

Review - Broken Halo by Michaela Grey

My rating: * * * *

Micah is a rather neurotic germaphobe, and a submissive, whose last relationship was with a jerk of a Dom who seemed to enjoy humiliating him. Quite by accident he meets Devon, a mechanic who is far nicer to Micah that he thinks he deserves. Devon persists, and as their relationship grows, so do Micah’s insecurities. “Broken Halo” is a rather sweet kinky tale with a few surprises. There are lots of hints as you read the story about where the plot is going, which appears to be down a rather predictable path.

book cover for Override

Review - Override by SJD Peterson

My rating: * * * *

Tall and muscular Donavan isn’t your typical submissive, and for that matter the older and shorter Seth doesn’t exactly fit the stereotype of a Dom, but the two men sense a connection almost from the beginning, and despite different backgrounds and conflicting work schedules they try to figure out where that connection will take them. “Override” obviously isn’t your typical Dominant/submissive story. It’s hard to describe how different it is without spoiling some of the surprises, so read on at your own risk.

Damien, ‘Day’ to his friends, is the new front office manager for the Iron Eagle Gym. It’s more than one person can handle and he’s desperate to find an assistant who can help him out. He wouldn’t mind finding a full time sub while he’s at it, but he doesn’t expect to find them both in the same man. ‘Saw’ is the perfect assistant, and he’s clearly a submissive who needs a master to take care of, only, having already lost one master and failed at business, Saw is convinced that he’s bad luck.

Review - What It Looks Like by Matthew J. Metzger

My rating: * * * * *

Eli is the son of a policeman and a forensic scientist. His parents clearly care for him, perhaps a little too much, but don’t really understand what the young man is going through. They certainly don’t understand Eli’s choice in boyfriends. Rob is almost the exact opposite of Eli. Abused as a child, Rob is very much from the wrong side of the tracks. He has had several run-ins with the law, and even spent a few years in prison.

Kyle is a young man who seems to have everything going for him. He comes from a well off family, who have provided a good education, a loft in town for him to live in, and his own car. But his family didn’t give him much love or attention, and if they knew he was gay, he would lose everything. It’s perhaps not too surprising that Kyle doesn’t have a very high opinion of his value, and you might wonder if this is what draws him so strongly to being a submissive when a friend introduces him to the BDSM world.
