Review - Blood Before Wine by J.P. Kenwood
My rating: 
After three months of hard labor in the slave quarters, Gaius releases Alle from his punishment for stealing a dagger, and welcomes him back to his bed. As the two grow ever closer to acknowledging their feelings for each other, it also becomes clear to Gaius that there are people, some of them apparently quite powerful, who know Alle’s secret, and then there’s the emperor himself, who takes an uncomfortable interest in Alle as well.

My rating:
Ethan and Ryder fight to save Ryder’s business, and their lives, in this last installment of the Ore 5 series. Ethan has found the link between the phony accounts and the mob trying to take over Black Ryder, but the lawyer the corporation puts on the case is none of than his father. Ethan will need to stand up for himself and prove he’s not the failure his parents might think in order to save the business.

Review - Jailmates by Lesli Richardson
My rating:
Warning: This is a book that’s hard to review and discuss all the interesting points it raises without giving away a little of the plot. Hopefully it’s no more than you could infer from the blurbs, but consider yourself warned. Simon is just a few days away from finishing up his five year stint in the military. He joined up to provide money to his single mother and younger sister, so he’ll need to find some other work eventually, but for now he’s just missing his family and looking forward to spending time with them.

Time may be against them, with the competing forces seeking control of the Kyleri empire converging on the last operational megacollider.

Liam is still mourning the loss of his former master, who died suddenly. Submission is something the young man needs, so despite his sorrow and with the encouragement of Jordan, Liam is determined to get back out into the scene. There are too many memories at Club Consequence, so Jordan’s sub Chuck agrees to accompany Liam to Kiss of Leather. As soon as he enters the club, Liam is taken with Neal.
Review - Earth Fathers are Weird by Lyn Gala
My rating:
Max is a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, sent to engage alien ships that seems to be invading Earth. His plane takes a hit and the next thing Max knows, he’s waking up aboard a space ship full of strange creatures from other worlds. The aliens have no interest in Max and drop him off at a planet used as a trading center far from home. He will need to find a way to pay for the long trip back to Earth, and it seems the highest paying job available is to be the nanny for a tentacled alien’s kids.

My rating:
Raine may be the chosen, destined to spend his life bonded to the Emperor Taldan, but he’s not sure the man truly accepts him, nor does he really know what role he will be able to play in the court. Meanwhile, Raine’s brothers back in Odenar have gone ahead with their plans to invade neighboring Bhantan and are killing and looting their way to the peaceful country’s valuable mines. Taldan’s brother Zaran is in hot pursuit of the invaders, and ambassador Isnay is trying to smooth things out with Bhantan’s new king.

The manager of The Retreat, Luke, as a problem: There’s a big party coming to stay and he doesn’t have an experienced waiter to serve the elaborate meals they plan to have. The owner of The Retreat, as well as the Underground Club, has the ideal solution. Skye is a professionally trained server that just started at the Underground Club. He believes he is submissive, but hasn’t yet figured out what he needs beyond that.

Review - Love by Shaw Montgomery

Scott, Ryan and Dare continue to try and figure out the three-way relationship they started in the first book, Us. It’s not an easy thing for Ryan and Scott to open up to each other, or to Dare, and Dare has to be careful not to push the guys too hard or too fast. On top of that, there are concerns about where Scott and Ryan are living, as well as what to tell people about their budding relationship.
Review - Horizon Points by Harry F. Rey

This third installment of The Galactic Captaisns series returns the focus to Ales, the lone survivor of Teva, smuggler on the Outer Verge, and now a commander in the Union forces seeking to take control of the verge from the Trades Council. Ales is trying to secure the materials the Union needs to build their new STAR drives, as well as quell rebellions against the new regime on Jensen, all while also trying to please Turo, the man who orchestrated the Union takeover and dominates Ales when they’re alone.
