Drew is a wolf shifter, a beta. He had an alpha master, but the alpha found a female mate to have his pups and doesn’t want Drew any more. The alpha drops Drew off at the Kennel Klub, a special underground kink establishment catering to shifters. The alpha was a cruel master who didn’t let Drew take his human form, so the young man has remained a wolf for well over a year while waiting for someone at the club to want him. Theo just joined the club and he’s looking for someone special, a challenge. When he sees Drew in his wolf form, Theo is instantly taken with him and is convinced Drew is the submissive for him.
“Brush and Whip” is set in a fantasy world where animal shifters are real and they have their own BDSM club where dominants can find willing submissives. That said, the kink that’s on the page is mostly quite mild. There’s talk of what Theo might do with Drew once the young man trusts him, and consents, but the story is mostly about earning Drew’s trust.
Drew is almost feral when we first meet him. His former master seems to have abused him mentally as well as physically by insisting the young man stay in his wolf form. Drew is a true fantasy submissive. He needs someone to please who will take control. That’s what he lives for.
Theo is your typical, cliché even, fantasy Dom. He’s independently wealthy, so he has the money and the time to spend enjoying the delights that his new submissive Drew can provide. Theo is strong-willed, firm, but not cruel. He seems to be exactly what Drew needs.
“Brush and Whip” is available from Smashwords or from independent booksellers through Bookshop.org.
