Review - Kidnapped by the Gentleman by Drake LaMarque
My rating:
Cedric is a rather feckless young man from London whose only talent seems to be getting into trouble. His despairing parents send him off to Kingston with his tutor, where they think there will be less opportunity for him to get in trouble. That plan clearly didn’t work out too well, so when Cedric returns home one morning after what he assumes was a particularly debauched night in a club — he assumes because he can’t remember any of it — he finds that his tutor has received orders for them to return immediately.
Review - Prince for Sale by Caroline Gibson
My rating:
Earth is about to be invaded by hostile aliens from the void, but David’s knowledge of crystal energy helps avoid the full invasion, with a little help from another alien, Prince Lonn. The leader of the invasion force is captured, and it turns out to be Lonn’s brother Vell. Eventually, Lonn takes Vell back to their homeworld to face punishment. Two years later, Lonn reappears in David’s penthouse with a badly beaten and emaciated Vell, where he leaves his brother under David’s protection while he returns to finish dealing with the people who have mistreated his brother.

Review - Something Human by A.J. Demas
My rating:
Adares, the young archon of Tios, seems doomed to die of thirst and starvation on the battlefield outside of the city he only recently was elected ruler of. He’s not seriously hurt but he’s trapped under his horse and the ruins of a seige cart. Just as he is pretty much resigned to his fate, he’s pulled out of his predicament by Rus, a young priest-warrior from the attacking Luth tribe.

My rating:
Joey may be “just” a cameraman for a porn studio, but he’s very good at it and his skills have propelled Ballsy Boys productions to the top spot. Perhaps it’s because as a straight man he doesn’t get distracted and can focus on capturing the scene at its best. Unfortunately, he needs to leave the studio so he can take care of his parents in Las Vegas. Luckily for him, a friend of the studio owner is opening up a new production company in Vegas, and could use a good cameraman.

Review - Dominic's Star by Michael Mandrake
My rating:
This book is part of a multi-author series featuring shifters, gargoyles and male pregnancy. Aside from the theme(s), there’s no connection between the books so it’s not necessary to read them all or read them in order. Dominic is a man on a war-like planet of bear shifters. He wants to advance his military career, but his father’s mistakes are constantly held against him. In what he thinks is a bold move to show he’s not his father’s son, Dominic comes up with the idea to undertake a spy mission to a nearby planet his military is considering trying to take over.
