Review - Deep Dish by L.A. Witt
My rating:
Things haven't been going right for Blake for a long time. Both he and his boyfriend struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic when work got scarce. To save costs, the two moved from California to Albuquerque, but then the boyfriend dumped Blake, and he ended up living in his car. Out of desperation, Blake agrees to move back in with his mother in Chicago, but that will come with a steep cost since he will be expected to take care of the house and his sibling's kids, leaving little time to find a job and get back on his feet.

Review - A Matter of When by Eden Winters
My rating:
Henri may be a chart-topping rock star, but he hates his life. He can afford to buy whatever he wants, but what he really needs is freedom from his overbearing stage mother-manager and band members who won't stab him in the back at the first opportunity. A crazed fan who drugs him at a party gives Henri the chance he needs to figure out what he really wants. He fires his mother, and his new manager arranges for voice lessons from an opera singer who lives in the Rockies.

The Blurb: Extremely introverted web developer Kevin has resigned himself to being single. Hookup apps don't do it for him, and he's too shy to try and meet men in bars or clubs, especially now that he thinks he knows the kind of man he needs. People are complicated. Dogs are much easier to make friends with. They don't lie about what they want. All you have to figure out is whether they like scratches or belly rubs and you've made a friend.

Review - The Lightkeeper's Son by Daniel Elijah Sanderfer
My rating:
Leland lives with his parents on a North Carolina resort island. It's an idyllic life, but it gets a bit lonely for a gay teenager when all the tourists leave once the summer season is over. Doug has just been kicked out of his home when his wealthy ultra-conservative father finds him with another boy. With nowhere else to go, he heads to the family's seldom-used beach house on Leland's island to try and figure things out.

Review - Prepared by Cara Dee
My rating:
Although delayed by the pandemic, Darius and Gray are finally getting their big day. As family and friends descend on the couple to help them celebrate their wedding, there may be times the pair wish they were back battling the human trafficking thugs. The boys will get through it. They always do. This last book in the Auctioned series is a bit of an anti-climax, but it's not without a fair bit of drama.

Review - Private Charter by N.R. Walker
My rating:
Stuart is a high flier in the international finance, mergers, and acquisition business. It's a job that gives him a rush when it all comes together, but his doctor warns Stuart that the stress has him headed for a heart attack before he's 40 if he doesn't take some time off. So, he books a two-week private yacht charter out of Cairns and invites his friend-with-benefits along. Stuart is looking forward to 12 days of sun, sea, and sex, but his friend cancels on him at the last minute, leaving Stuart to go alone.

Review - One Step Forward, Two Steps Back by Cyd Sidney
My rating:
Joshua hasn't quite got his life back together after he had to drop out of grad school to help his mother nurse his dying father. Then there was the breakup with his toxic ex-boyfriend. He thinks he should try to go back to school but hasn't quite got the confidence to apply. In the meantime, he does small web gigs and plays piano. Joshua is filling in for another pianist at a ballet school when he meets Brandon, one of the instructors.
Review - Dearest Milton James by N.R. Walker
My rating:
Malachi is a fun-loving young gay man with a sunny outlook on life. The only blemish on his fabulous life is work. His inability to keep a job is driving his father crazy. Dad has arranged one last chance. He's arranged for Malachi to work at the “dead letter” warehouse. Things are not looking good, even less so when the young man meets his new boss, Julian. The slightly older man who always dresses in shades of brown seems the definition of dull.

Review - Too Like the Lightening by Travis Beaudoin
My rating:
Andrew's life seems to be falling apart. First, he lost his teaching job at a small college when the staff had to be downsized, and that led to the breakup of his relationship with his partner, who also happened to be the department head. To help him get some distance and a new perspective, Andrew's best friend offers the use of her husband's old family retreat in a small Florida town for the summer.

Review - Fate by Rob Rosen
My rating:
Eddie's stand-up comic mother goes into labor while on the road. She ends up sharing a hospital room with another woman, who as it happens lives not far away from her. Although coming from two different social circles, the two women become good friends, as do their sons, Eddie and Brian. At seven years old, the two boys are separated when Brian's parents have to move to another state, leaving Eddie on his own.
