Review - The Chaos We Create by KI Brightly and M.D. Gregory
My rating:
Tate’s short temper has gotten him into trouble, and not for the first time. He’s arrested after getting into a brawl at a stop sign. Problem is, he was on his way home from a robbery at the time, so the police have him on that as well. Tate is surprised when he is released without charge on the orders of Ramsey, a man who says he was a friend of Tate’s late mother.
Review - Lost in the Woods by Crystal D. Budy
My rating:
Carter and Max continue their quest to pull down the Appalachian Order, a cult-like crime ring dealing in drugs, guns and human trafficking, which Max’s father is heavily involved in. The two also grow ever closer, but it’s difficult with Max’s erratic behavior resulting from the abuse he suffered as a child and with his husband. It doesn’t help that his ex keeps trying to re-insert himself into Max’s life.

Review - Heart of Stone by Johannes T. Evans
My rating:
Vampire Henry is several hundred years old. Over the centuries, he has turned his hand to many things. Now, in the mid-eighteenth century, he is in publishing, but he needs a new personal secretary. His mind wanders too much to keep track of everything that needs to be done. Theophilus comes highly recommended, and Henry is instantly taken with the handsome yet reserved young man. Theophilus doesn’t know his employer is a vampire.

Review - Little God by R. Cooper
My rating:
Melis is the god of bees and honey, and desire. He’s among the youngest of the gods and a bit of an outcast. King Antero is one of the god’s most ardent followers. Antero is reputed to be very handsome, but has yet to find a suitable companion, someone who wants him for who he is rather than because he’s the king. He prays to Melis often for help in his quest.
Review - Master by Choice by M.A. Innes
My rating:
It’s still early days for Cooper, Sawyer and their prospective master Jackson. The ever-optimistic Cooper is already all-in on the relationship, but Sawyer is being cautious. It’s just in his nature, and Jackson accepts that. He knows he is going to have to let each of the two young men go at their own speed. Jackson is sure he wants the relationship with both of them to work, even though some people might not understand or accept it.

Review - Sammy's Place by Sean Michael
My rating:
Sammy seems to make bad choices when it comes to men. The young man likes a bit of pain play, but his latest boyfriend really just likes to beat him up. Fortunately, Sammy’s best friend Jason notices the bruises and convinces Sammy to come stay with him and his boyfriend Harry. Jason and Harry try to cheer Sammy up by taking him to a party. They invite Harry’s friend Peter along as well.

Review - Out of the Blue by Lyra Evans
My rating:
Fae Detective Nico Spruce has been unsettled lately. A recent undercover operation gave him reason to question his self-image. Then, while recovering from a bullet wound that ended the undercover job, his boyfriend cheated on him. But there’s no time to think about that now. A dead body has been found on the beach. There’s no clue to the identity of the young man, nor can anyone explain exactly what caused the big hole in his chest.
Review - The Roaming Sea by Mike Carss
My rating:
Callum is a pacifist at heart, but like all humans, he grew up hearing about the war to regain human territory taken by the pactrids. So, when he reaches the age of conscription, Callum does his part. Luckily for him, he shows an aptitude for medicine and is trained as a medic. He works near the front lines but doesn’t have to be involved in the fighting. One day, on his way back home for a rest, there’s a transport problem that lands him far behind enemy lines.

Review - The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang
My rating:
Near the end of the first century BC, in the grand imperial palace of the Han Emperor, three men develop a triangle relationship of love, lust and power with emotions so strong it will propel them to meet again and again for over two millennia. In each encounter, one of them attempts to set right the toxic relationship that has cursed the trio for two thousand years. I’m always a little leery of books with critical acclaim, especially from mainstream media.
Review - Sloppy by Alex Pendragon
My rating:
Justin works in the office of a small factory with the owner. They’re both there on a Sunday afternoon with only a couple of people in the warehouse when the forklift driver has a heart attack, resulting in a crash that spills industrial lubricant everywhere. The driver is taken to hospital and the boss orders Justin to help the one other person working that day to clean up the mess while he goes out to buy a shop vacuum to help.
