Review - Men in the Hot Room by Cameron D. James
My rating: 
This collection of connected short stories mainly focuses on a developing relationship between yoga instructor Brad and one of his students Simon. In a series of encounters, Simon seduces the older man, although it doesn’t take much convincing to make Brad fall for him. Additional stories start off a series of encounters with the go-go boys of Club 21, another set of stories featuring a different cast of characters. The “hot room” stories comprise about two-thirds of the book.

Review - Beware Mohawks Bearing Gifts by SA Collins

In an alternate universe, the British did not abandon the native Americans at the Treaty of Paris, ending the American revolution, and kept their promise to help the tribes establish their own homeland. Twenty years later, tensions are high between the confederated native lands and the nascent United States, which is hemmed in between the natives and the Atlantic Ocean. In New York, William Hallet is a bit of a dandy but has a taste for adventure.
Review - Chasing the Dream by Ann Marie James
My rating:
When Lee shows up at Kirk’s garage, he’s badly in need of a job and a place to stay, in that order. He’s just been thrown out by his homophobic father and beaten up by his older brother. Lucky for him, an old employee from his father’s garage can vouch for him being a good mechanic. What’s more, there’s an old apartment over the shop that Kirk can rent to him cheap.

Review - Screwing the System by Josephine Myles

Alasdair runs a successful cleaning services company and is interviewing candidates to fill more vacancies at his growing business. Cosmo is one of the people he interviews, but the younger man has every intention of failing it, so he can keep benefits and work on his music with the band he belongs to. The two seem like “chalk and cheese”, to use the British expression, yet there’s a mutual attraction that is hard to deny, and when they get together one evening the sparks fly.
Review - Ted of the d'Ubervilles by Rob Rosen

The author kindly provided an advanced review copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for this review. Ted has been living on the streets for six years, since he was orphaned at 17. He’s managed to survive without selling himself or getting hooked on drugs, but it’s a hard and lonely existence. One day when Ted gets a rare chance to check his email he finds a message from a lawyer telling him he may be heir to a fortune, if he can get to New York for the reading of a will.
Review - Cabin Boy by Drake LaMarque
My rating:
As the son of the governor of Jamaica, Gideon leads a rather privileged life. However, trouble looms as Gideon’s father insists he choose a girl to marry within the week, but the young man knows he isn’t attracted to women. He decides the best course of action is to run away, so he sneaks out the house early one morning and manages to find a ship to take him on. The captain is a tall muscular imposing figure who displays a curious interest in Gideon, who is also attracted to the first mate as well.
Review - Hard Lessons by Samuel King
My rating:
Smarting from a recent breakup with his boyfriend, Jake thinks a few months in the country tutoring English is exactly what he needs. However, he’s a bit dismayed to find he is very attracted to his prospective employer, Nathan, and even more so when he finds out his student is not Nathan’s son but Nathan himself. Even more surprising is the offer of the job after just a few minutes’ conversation.

Review - The Mystery of the Curiosities by C.S. Poe
My rating:
Things are going rather well for Sebastian Snow. His relationship with detective Calvin Snow is gong along nicely, and the shop is doing well. Unfortunately, the calm is shattered, literally, when someone throws a brick through the front window of the Emporium. That begins a series of escalating events, which includes murders and bombings, that Sebastian can’t help but investigate, despite the warnings and pleadings of Calvin. In this second outing for “Snow and Winter”, the dynamic of the couple is now firmly in place, so it’s mostly all about the mystery.

Review - For the Love of a Boy by Morticia Knight
My rating:
Malcolm and Seth are settling in to their daddy and son relationship quite happily, for the most part. Seth still struggles with PTSD over the abuse he suffered at his father’s hand, and doubts about whether or not Malcolm can really care for such a “damaged” young man. Despite his progress, trouble looms on the horizon as the police are now investigating Seth’s claims of abuse by the church his father headed.

Review - Leather God Descending by Hadrian Temple
My rating:
Adam is an experienced Dom demonstrating bondage and discipline techniques at the Folsom fair when he spots a policeman in the crowd. The cop stops by the booth several times over the course of the day, and it becomes obvious to Adam that his interest is more than just keeping the peace. As the day winds down, Officer Riley takes the opportunity to talk to Adam, and it’s clear the policeman has a submissive side he’s curious about.
