Scott is a freelance photographer. Josh is an executive at a company Scott has just finished a shoot for. The two men are attracted to each other, so meet for drinks after the work day ends. The attraction grows and it seems inevitable the two will end up in bed together. Josh and Scott are very well matched. Josh is a gently dominating top who enjoys pleasuring Scott, who barely puts up any resistance to Josh’s control. Outside the bedroom, both men are devoted to their work, which sometimes keeps them apart for too long.
“Love in an Elevator” is a highly erotic, zero drama contemporary romance. The kink is very lightly done. Josh is not your typical BDSM dominant, trying to control everything in his submissive’s life. For Josh, it’s all about giving Scott pleasure, even when Scott isn’t sure what he needs. As for Scott, he doesn’t like admitting that he enjoys the kinky stuff Josh does, but he doesn’t resist it.
The narration switches points of view between Scott and Josh. Occasionally it gets a little muddled, but not enough to ruin the story. Scott must be a talented photographer, judging by how busy he is. Scott’s resistance to admitting he likes the kinky things Josh does seems almost automatic, a built-in cultural response rather than a real dislike.
As already mentioned, Josh is not your typical D/s story dominant. He doesn’t seek full control over Scott the way many fictional doms do, and the kinky things he does with Scott are fairly mild. There’s a suggestion they might take things further as their relationship develops. The only hint of drama in the entire story is Josh’s resistance to formalizing the relationship, even though he seems to be the one that suffers the most when the two are apart for work.
