Will and his team of supernatural investigators are having a hard time finding a case of a true haunting after their harrowing experiences at an abandoned hospital. So far, all they’ve found are duds. Places that may be creepy, but don’t have any ghosts. When Payne approaches the team to help with the spirits haunting the old family mansion he inherited, it looks like the Supers have found what they’re looking for. It may even be more than they bargained for.

This sequel to the Supers sees the team of young, gay, paranormal investigators take on a new case. It builds on the characters introduced in the first book, but if you haven’t read that one, you may not be missing too much. The team of investigators is the same as the first book, but the focus now is on a different member, Will, and there’s a new mystery to investigate.

We know Will from the first book as the team’s cameraman. He’s probably the most sceptical of the group, although none of them can deny ghosts exist. Will can also be gruff, and that is played on in this book. We don’t get to know much more about the young man than we already knew. The focus is all on his relationship with Payne.

Payne is the client who hires the Supers to help him get rid of the malevolent ghosts haunting the old house his ancestors built more than a hundred years ago. He may seem like a mild-mannered librarian at first, but as we learn more about what he’s been exposed to after moving into the mansion, it’s clear he has a lot of nerve.
