Colt arrives home from work to find his wife has packed up her things and left. It’s not a surprise, since he walked in on her cheating on him a few months ago. What is surprising is that she left without saying anything to her son. Quin arrives home from nursing school to find his mother gone, and his stepfather clearly isn’t happy. The young man is gay and with his long hair, he has a slightly feminine look. Once he takes a good look at the stepson he’s largely ignored, Colt realizes Quin is rather pretty. Even though he identifies as straight, Colt makes Quin an offer: If he will cook and clean the house, wear dresses, and satisfy any of Colt’s sexual whims, Quin can stay and continue studying. Quin rebels at the idea. He may be gay, but he’s never been into cross-dressing, and while Colt may push some of his buttons, the whole trad-wife concept seems crazy. However, it soon becomes clear that Quin doesn’t have any options, so he agrees to Colt’s proposal.

I’ve found, with this writing duo, that the set up of each story is often eye-rollingly unlikely. There’s nothing to do except move past it and enjoy the kinky story. This isn’t your typical BDSM story, and it isn’t really even a dominant/submissive tale. Quin does take on a very submissive role in the relationship, but while Colt is a demanding “husband” he isn’t the kind of dominant you usually find in these types of stories. There’s a whiff of dubious consent in the way things start, but Quin soon embraces the idea of presenting more feminine.

Colt is definitely a curious character. He has this ideal of a traditional wife like you might see in a 1950s television show, the kind that probably never existed in real life. Colt starts off being a real hard man, and once we learn about his “business” that’s even more apparent, but as things develop between him and Quin, Colt displays a surprising soft side.

I found Quin to be a very relatable character. His initial reaction to Colt’s proposal is exactly what you’d expect. The evolution of Quin’s thinking, from grudging acceptance to openly embracing the role-playing, feels very natural and believable. I saw the big twist near the end coming, but I have to admit it didn’t turn out the way I expected. There are a couple of allusions to Pretty Woman and that definitely fits the mood of this kinky fantasy.
