Prince Jordan just turned 21, and he’s still a virgin. It’s not that he hasn’t tried, but anyone he gets close to in the palace seems to get replaced, and everyone in the small European kingdom knows who he is, so an anonymous hookup isn’t possible. The young man is now pinning his hopes on joining his parents for their trip to the United States, where nobody knows him. Sneaking away from the palace guards is something he’s become an expert at. Stuart has worked in personal security since leaving the army. Guarding the prince seems like an easy assignment, even knowing that the young man will almost certainly try to slip away.

“Princely Submission” is a very modern fairy tale for adults about a handsome prince who desperately needs to get laid. As the title suggests, there’s a kinky aspect to the story, but it’s very mild. The story is about breaking taboos, with kink being just one of them. Their age difference as well as the client relationship work against Stuart and Jordan getting together.

Jordan’s story is a curious one. He’s been raised in the palace and has had very little to do with the outside world. His parents have been over-protective of the young man, especially regarding his obvious preference for men. It’s no wonder Jordan rebels and attempts to escape the castle for a while so he can experience real life. Over the course of the story, Jordan definitely matures and also begins to see his parents in a different light.

The narration alternates between Stuart and Jordan’s point of view. Stuart’s story is a little more typical. Once we get to know him, Stuart’s aversion to relationships is understandable. Of course, his desire to stay professional with the much younger man who he supposed to be protecting is also very understandable. The story does a good job of making it seem like a relationship isn’t possible, or can only be short term, which keeps you reading to see how things really do turn out.
