Review - The Cross and the Trinity
My rating:
This review originally appeared in slightly different form at BDSM Book Reviews. In “The Cross and the Trinity” we witness the evolution of a BDSM menage relationship. As the book opens, Tate and Sebastian’s relationship is under many of the same strains that almost any couple - gay or straight, kinky or vanilla - experiences. And like too many young couples, they don’t have the maturity or life experience to help them deal with the stresses of work and other responsibilities.
Review - Gilliflowers, Bonds of Affection, Memoirs of a Houseboy 2008
My rating:
Spoiler alerts: If you haven’t read the earlier books in the series, then this review might give away some of what you’ll best discover for yourself. Also, there are strong hints at what happens in this book. It’s time for another year with my favorite sometimes-but-often-not submissive houseboy. This volume covers the year of 2008 and returns to the style of the first two books, with lots of little ‘diary’ entries alongside longer, detailed stories of particular episodes in the topsy-turvy world of Gillibran Brown, houseboy and young pup to two masters, Dick and Shane.
Review - Lakeside Reunion
My rating:
Spoiler alert: This is one of those short-stories that’s difficult to review without giving away most of the plot details. But then, this isn’t a book you’re going to read for its plot. Chris has arranged a little reunion with his old college roommates Sean and Tim at an isolated vacation home. Chris had tried to deny his feelings while in school, but since graduating he has come to terms with his sexuality, and his strong attraction to Sean.

Review - Achilles and the Houseboy
My rating:
This further adventure of my favorite houseboy in a domestic menage with two older Doms is actually an outtake from his previous book, More Fun With Dick and Shane. With fewer digressions that the first two books, this volume squarely tackles an issue only briefly touched on in previous books, and one of the most sensitive aspects of a menage relationship: jealously. After an hilarious introduction in which the reasoning - which only this author could conjure up - behind the title is explained, the book gets pretty serious.
Review - The Hot Floor
My rating:
Josh is a shy young man living in Bath. He was recently dumped by his boyfriend and now lives in a small apartment on the top floor of a run-down converted house. He likes his job as a glass blower, making traditional ornaments, but otherwise he has a rather empty life with few friends. As the story opens, Josh is crushing on his downstairs neighbors, Evan and Rai. The big strapping Evan from Manchester and geeky Japanese Rai make an unlikely couple.

Review - Just Call Me Kris
My rating:
It’s a bittersweet Christmas Eve for Mike and Karl. The two lovers and newly graduated physicians have landed plum internships at New York’s Bellevue Hospital, but that means spending the holiday away from their many friends back in New Orleans and missing the annual get-together on Christmas Eve. The two are about to console each other with a night of sex when there’s a knock at the door, which turns out to be a man dressed as Santa Claus.

Review - Staged Whispers
My rating:
Dylan, Cole and Brandon are three good friends, business partners, and lovers. They met in college and afterwards formed a successful business in Florida. But a ghost from Dylan’s past threatens to destroy him and his relationship with the two men he loves. Cole and Brandon can tell something is wrong, but Dylan shuts out all their attempts to help him. “Staged Whispers” can probably best be described as a paranormal mystery, with a fair bit of sex thrown in.

Review - Goldilocks and his Three Bears
My rating:
Once upon a time there was a small town boy with long blond hair named Brian. New to Los Angeles, the young twink has a thing for older men and spends his spare time in leather bars looking for “daddy”. That’s just where Brian, our Goldilocks, meets Paul, a big, tattooed biker man. Paul takes Brian home and thrills him no end. The two fall into a sort of casual relationship, but the truth is that Brian has fallen hard for Paul.
Review - The Fights Of Summer
My rating:
Note: I received an advanced copy for review. The released story may have had minor changes. James is a young man studying in university, and in an unusual relationship with two other men, Carl and Dane. The other two men are also students, as well as mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters. James himself is something of a pacifist. He dreads fight nights, when he has to watch one or both of his lovers get beaten in a cage.

Review - More Fun With Dick and Shane
My rating:
The houseboy is back, and he’s still in good form. Like the first book, there’s no real plot to this ‘memoir’. It’s mostly in the form of a diary with a few longer stories interspersed in. ‘Gilli’ is a 25 year-old houseboy and submissive ‘boy’ lover to two older ‘daddy’ doms, Dick and Shane. It isn’t always easy for the impulsive and headstrong young man to live up to the expectations his daddies place on him.
