Review - Magpie
My rating:
Everet (a raven) is the security chief for the nest of avians introduced in Duck. As this sequel opens, he has been called to collect Kane, a magpie, from the human nightclub where he’s fallen fowl (if you’ll pardon the expression) of the management. Magpies are know for their inability to resist the allure of shiny objects, and it seems that despite his talent for seducing and pleasuring men, Kane has stolen too much, too often, from the wrong people.
Review - Mastering the Ride
My rating:
Josh is a young man with a powerful submissive urge. He yearns to please a master and be loved and cherished in return, but so far he’s been unable to find a master that he clicks with. His latest master wanted a robot that would do only exactly what he was told and didn’t expect any praise. Josh was never good enough for him and the master has just terminated their trial contract.

Review - I Once Had a Master
My rating:
“I Once Had a Master” is a collection of nine short stories by one of the masters (if you’ll pardon the expression) of gay BDSM erotica. Preston passed away in 1994 and the book, originally published in 1985, is only available in print, so it’s taken me a while to get my hands on it. The collection isn’t exactly what I was expecting. While the stories are almost all hard-core in one way or another, there’s a lot more to them than just the kinky sex, which often plays a minor role.
Review - Papa Knows Best
My rating:
This review originally appeared at BDSM Book Reviews. Photography teacher Dominick Pappas, called ‘Papa’ by his old friend Ben, is snapping pictures in a cafe one day when he spies the distinguished Professor Bradley Louis, a much older man that Papa is instantly infatuated with. Professor Louis has a reputation for being gruff, but despite Ben’s warnings Papa tries to connect with the older man. He’s rebuffed, but determined, and eventually, after several encounters, Bradley agrees to a date.

Review - The Viking in My Bed
My rating:
This review first appeared at BDSM Book Reviews. College student Bailey wakes up with a heavy weight on his shoulders, quite literally. There’s a viking in his bed, who seems to know every little secret spot on Bailey’s body that will make him shiver with lust. He assumes the naked Norseman is some kind of prank by his roommates. The blond bronzed god is out of his league. But the viking, Frey, insists he is there for Bailey.

Review - More Fun With Dick and Shane
My rating:
The houseboy is back, and he’s still in good form. Like the first book, there’s no real plot to this ‘memoir’. It’s mostly in the form of a diary with a few longer stories interspersed in. ‘Gilli’ is a 25 year-old houseboy and submissive ‘boy’ lover to two older ‘daddy’ doms, Dick and Shane. It isn’t always easy for the impulsive and headstrong young man to live up to the expectations his daddies place on him.

Review - All the Gear, No Idea
My rating:
Theo is a young man looking for a little fantasy fulfillment on Valentines Day. He’s had dreams about the BDSM scene, but this is the first time he’s entered the club to act on them. He has all the gear, and no idea what he’s getting into. McCormack is an experienced dom who apparently has been without his own sub for quite some time. On Valentine’s Day, McCormack receives a message from the club owner’s sub, Bret, that the owner wants McCormack to ‘break in’ a new sub - Theo.

Review - By His Rules
My rating:
Aiden is a 23 year-old aspiring actor. He wants to continue his studies, but for now he’s taking some time to explore his submissive side. He’s played with a lot of tops and doms, but most of them were just into the role, the experiences didn’t seem real. Then one night at a BDSM club, Aiden meets Scott, a dom he’s played with once before, with a reputation for being rough.

Review - In the Red
My rating:
This review originally appeared on BDSM Book Reviews: Brian Foster is a broken man, scared and alone. He was one of the FBI’s top forensic accountants, able to see patterns in money movement that nobody else could and taking down some of the most dangerous terrorists in the process. But a year ago he was abducted, brutalized to find out what he knew, and left for dead. Now he lives alone on an isolated farm in Maryland, with enough guns to create a small army and enough lights to chase every shadow from every room, all night long.

Review - Remastering Jerna
My rating:
Remastering Jerna is a really dark tale of suffering and redemption. In it, the author has created an alternate world not unlike our own, but with significant small differences. She spends many pages drawing this world and the main characters in rich detail, making everything three dimensional and very real in a very readable style that gradually draws you in. The title character, Jerna, is a teacher in a temple school with a wife and two daughters.
