Review - Slave in Training
My rating:
This review originally appeared in slightly different form at BDSM Book Reviews. This is a case where the title of a book is probably more illuminating than the blurb. The style of the story is in the form of a memoir recounting the main character’s youth and early training as a slave in the 1970s. Max knows he is different from an early age, and it isn’t just his bisexuality, but it isn’t until he meets his gym teacher, James Teka, that he begins to understand that he was born with a deep seated need to serve others.
Review - Virgin Territory
My rating:
The blurb for this short novelette sets it up rather nicely: Danny may be a virgin, but that’s not all he is… When a fellow dom points Aaron in the direction of the new guy visiting in their local leather bar, there are a lot of things that draw him to Danny. One of those things is the rumor that Danny is a virgin in terms of leather, guy-on-guy action, and even in so far as his experience with girls.
Review - The Boy Who Belonged
My rating:
Derek and his sub Lane are getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas together, and perhaps the only one who is more surprised than Derek is Lane. The much younger Lane was someone Derek was prepared to hate on sight. His parents cheated Derek and hundreds of other people out of their life savings in a Ponzi scheme. For a while it looked like Lane himself was involved, but it eventually turned out that he, like Derek, was simply used and duped by his own parents.
Review - A Man, A Jersey and a Tight End
My rating:
Nearly two years have passed since Brian, ‘Goldilocks’, moved in with his three bears to set up an unusual, somewhat polyamorous, relationship with them. In this sequel to Goldilocks and His Three Bears, the strains of ‘Daddy’ Paul’s heavy travel schedule is showing on Brian, who is almost out of control, despite Momma Bear Jim’s best disciplinarian efforts. It doesn’t help that Jim’s own sub, baby bear Scott, is also out on the road.
Review - Safeword
My rating:
In this sequel to Power Exchange, it’s been nearly two years since Detective Gavin DeGrassi and his Dom Ben were attacked and almost killed by a serial killer. Gavin is back at work as a police detective, but he’s far from over the post-traumatic stress of the attack. He can’t stand being touched, even by his lover Ben, let alone tied up and dominated, and everywhere he looks there are reminders of the event.
Review - Connection: Angel's Pet
My rating:
Camulus is an immortal being. Humans who have glimpsed his true form call beings like him angels, although given Camulus’ dark wings, perhaps he is a fallen angel. He has traveled from world to world, played the part of king and god, but now finds that a little boring. What he needs is a new pet, a devotee who will dedicate himself to serving the ‘angel’ in every way. Adam is a young man who knows his desires are on the wrong side of the dystopian society he lives in.
Review - Choices
My rating:
This review originally appeared on the BDSM Book Reviews web site. Teman and his boyhood friend Jasim are professional thieves, although they prefer to think of themselves as specialists in the recovery of lost items, by any means. As “Choices” opens, they are caught in a trap set by the palace guards. They are taken to the captain of the guards, who gives them a choice: be cast into the dungeon or agree to become pleasure slaves in the palace.
Review - Goldilocks and his Three Bears
My rating:
Once upon a time there was a small town boy with long blond hair named Brian. New to Los Angeles, the young twink has a thing for older men and spends his spare time in leather bars looking for “daddy”. That’s just where Brian, our Goldilocks, meets Paul, a big, tattooed biker man. Paul takes Brian home and thrills him no end. The two fall into a sort of casual relationship, but the truth is that Brian has fallen hard for Paul.
Review - The Elegant Corpse
My rating:
Roger Corso is a detective with the LAPD, and a more tightly wound individual would be hard to imagine. He could make Joe Friday look like a loose cannon and Felix Unger look like a slob (★). Part of that is just who he is, but there’s also a defensive wall around the part of him that still grieves for his dead lover. He also has to be on guard about his private life.

Review - Mastering the Ride
My rating:
Josh is a young man with a powerful submissive urge. He yearns to please a master and be loved and cherished in return, but so far he’s been unable to find a master that he clicks with. His latest master wanted a robot that would do only exactly what he was told and didn’t expect any praise. Josh was never good enough for him and the master has just terminated their trial contract.
