Review - The Very Troublesome Ghoulish Bizarre Boy by Mark A. Roeder
My rating:
Thad has had a rough life since being orphaned at a young age. He's been in a string of orphanages, foster homes, and juvenile detention. The experiences have hardened him and made him cynical far beyond his thirteen-year-old age. Thad is certain that nobody is nice to him unless they want something. When Angel and Kurt pick Thad up from "juvie" and announce they're adopting him, he figures they're just the latest in a long line of do-gooders or abusers looking for free labor on their farm, which is just outside of a small town that seems right out of a 1960s sit-com.

Review - The Gilded Madonna by Garrick Jones
My rating:
Clyde returns from a vacation to Melbourne with Harry to find a photo of him and some of his friends from his days in North Africa during World War II delivered to his office. It's the first of several clues that draws Clyde into two seemingly unrelated cases. One is the kidnapping of two children off the street. The other is the re-emergence of a serial killer from Clyde's old days on the police force.

Review - A Matter of When by Eden Winters
My rating:
Henri may be a chart-topping rock star, but he hates his life. He can afford to buy whatever he wants, but what he really needs is freedom from his overbearing stage mother-manager and band members who won't stab him in the back at the first opportunity. A crazed fan who drugs him at a party gives Henri the chance he needs to figure out what he really wants. He fires his mother, and his new manager arranges for voice lessons from an opera singer who lives in the Rockies.

Review - Froggie Went A Sailing by Sam Burns
My rating:
Crown Prince Jasper enjoys his sexual encounters with the men of the court, but those dalliances will have to end once he is married. It would be unseemly for a king to be seen cheating on the queen, even if it never bothered his father. The marriage was arranged before Jasper's older brother died, making Jasper next in line for the throne. It was a suitable arrangement for the spare heir, but now that Jasper is crown prince, his father would like to break off the engagement.

Review - Three of a Kind by Sean Michael
My rating:
Zane's truck has broken down on a deserted Arizona highway. He's been driving for days to get as far away as possible from the boyfriend who beat him up and sold off most of his things. He managed to fight back and get away with just his truck and a few clothes. Construction worker Butch spots the broken-down truck and pulls over to offer help. When he sees the battered young Zane, Butch offers to take Zane home and patch him up.
Review - The Gentleman's Book of Vices by Jess Everlee
My rating:
Charlie may be good at accounting, but he's not very good at managing his own money. He likes his fine clothes and nice flat in London. After getting deeply in debt and having to ask his banker father for help one too many times, Charlie's father insists he get married to a nice girl they've picked out, in the hope that he'll become more responsible. Although Charlie doesn't like women that way, he has become good friends with his bride-to-be and has convinced himself, if not any of his friends, that he will be able to carry on socializing with his friends at the Curious Fox as usual.

Review - Valter by Alexis Woods
My rating:
Valter is the youngest of the five children of the king and queen. Soon, his parents will be trying to marry him off to some princess, which is a rather depressing thought. Valter's preferences lie in another direction. But Fate has other plans for the young man. On his eighteenth birthday, after a particularly cruel round of bullying from his older siblings, Valter discovers that he's fated to mate with not one but two other men.
Review - Dublin Bay by John Patrick
My rating:
James is a seventeen-year-old working-class Irish man just out of school and looking for his first job. He's picking mussels from Dublin Bay one day to feed his family when he spots another young man his age on the dock. James is mesmerized by the blond youth, Otto, who also seems attracted to James. Otto is German, and he and his father are on the dock seeing off Otto's mother.

Review - Upon This Rock by David Perry
My rating:
After a difficult year of caring for a terminally ill friend, Lee and his husband Adriano are taking a long vacation to relax. They're going to spend most of the time in Orvieto, an ancient hilltop town 100 miles north of Rome. The town has lots of character and quirky residents, but soon, the couple learns of the suicide of a local would-be priest the year before. The incident seems to have had a big effect on the town, and the parallels with Lee's own life compel him to look into the death.
Review - High Interest Dette by Lilo Quie
My rating:
Bastien helps Leo and Gabriel take care of their large broods of dragon pups. He's very good with children but isn't sure he wants pups of his own. Bastien's heats are so painful that he thinks he may just want to be sterilized. Anyway, to have pups, he would need a drake, and what drake would be interested in a half-breed dette? Stefan and Gaelin have been lovers of a sort for many years.
