Ben is now living with his uncle Devon, with whom he’s having a sexual relationship. It’s a two-bedroom apartment, so nobody suspects the true nature of their relationship. Devon dominates his nephew, giving him pleasure in ways that Ben never thought possible. He just can’t seem to get enough of his uncle, and the feelings are entirely mutual. The desire to pull Ben out of his shell as well as explore the young man’s kinky fantasies push Devon to engineer some public encounters with his nephew. It’s a potentially dangerous path that has to be walked carefully.

This unexpected sequel to Uncle picks up where the previous book left off. In theory, you could read this story without having read the first, but you’ll be missing a bit of background on the two main characters. While Devon plays a very dominant role to Ben’s willing submission, their kinks don’t veer towards bondage and discipline. The sex may be rough, but there’s no sadism or masochism involved.

The narration alternates between Ben and Devon from one chapter to the next. Ben is an easy character to like, and his infatuation with Devon is easy to understand. The older man has the experience to give Ben the domination he needs, which is something a man his own age probably couldn’t do for Ben. We definitely see Ben become more outgoing and self-confident in this installment, even if he does become completely submissive once Devon turns on his charms.

Devon seems to have mellowed a bit in this second book, with the realization that what he feels for Ben is more than lust. He has reduced the use of language I found degrading towards Ben in the first book, but it still creeps in when they’re having sex. It seems counterproductive to his goal of building up Ben’s self-confidence, but the young man doesn’t seem to mind.

Unlike the first book, there seems to be a more obvious opening left for another book in the series regarding an unresolved sub-plot line. We’ll just have to see.
