Ben’s husband, Standish, is dying of cancer. Ben will do anything to save the love of his life, but all of the standard medical treatments have been exhausted. That’s when Ben has the crazy idea of summoning a demon to make a deal to save Standish. He doesn’t expect it to work, but it may give Standish a moment or two of mirth when Ben tells him about it. Much to everyone’s surprise, a demon appears. Ben has summoned Zazzul, an ancient demon skilled in the art of sex magic. It can save Standish, but only if Ben agrees to submit totally to the demon’s domination, and Standish agrees to watch.

“Fiends with Benefits” is a rather silly erotic fantasy. The title itself gives you a clue not to take it too seriously. That said, it’s a fun, spicy novelette that essentially comes down to a single scene. The kink is relatively mild, with a bit of bondage and some mild discipline. It is nonetheless very hot.

The story is related entirely from Ben’s point of view. There’s not much character development, which isn’t unusual for a short bit of erotica. Ben and Standish are clearly very much in love, and that’s about all we know. There’s no background on how they met or even how long they’ve been together.

The only other character is the three thousand year old demon, Zazzul. He quickly takes control of the situation, and Ben, calling all the shots while inserting an occasional comment that lightens the mood considerably.
