Dane is a “little” in search of a dominant daddy to take care of him. He hasn’t been having much luck. At a munch for others with a similar kink, it’s all straight people. But then Dane is approached by Wright, one of the tentacled aliens that have come to earth. Wright is interested in the Daddy/little dynamic and has studied everything he can find about the human kink. The two make an excellent match, and yet the reality is a bit harder to make work.

The fourth The New Neighbors book builds on the third, Their Alien, with a look at another new relationship between one of the tentacled aliens and a young human man. The other books in the series have built up a consistent picture of the aliens for us, so you should have read at least some of them, especially the first book.

Like all the books in this series, this is a light romance with almost no drama. There is a lot for Dane and Wright to work out as they attempt to form a complex relationship that crosses an immense cultural gap as well as a few human norms. It’s all done with a great deal of humor as Dane comments on the delights and frustrations of having an alien mate. He has to negotiate everything, starting with his ability to make it up the stairs on his own without his daddy to keep him from falling down.

We get a few paragraphs here and there from Wright’s point of view. They’re mostly pithy comments on the indefatigable nature of humans.
