Storm is a crocodile shifter and a member of the team of assassins that take on rogue paranormals who threaten innocents. The team is run by Cyrus, who sends Storm on a mission to rescue a young man kidnapped by a bear shifter, who has done it before. Storm arrives just in the nick of time to save Pax. Pax is a pixie, and Storm instantly recognizes him as his fated mate. Both men’s pasts may get in the way of their future together if they’re not careful.
“Sweet Things For A Crocodile” continues the story of Assassins Alley, started by Not That Kind of Demon. This book focuses on a different pairing, but you probably should read the first book to understand the setting of the series and the characters that make up the little community of professional paranormal assassins in a small Montana town.
The “Sweet Things” in the title has a double meaning. Pax has a serious sugar addiction. Storm sometimes has to put up with being the second most important thing in Pax’s life, after donuts. But, Pax himself is a very sweet young man. He only becomes really angry when Storm is overprotective and tries to keep Pax out of danger.
Storm is the calm and steady counterbalance to Pax’s flighty disposition. For a ruthless assassin with an inner crocodile, though, the guy seems to be quite a softy. He treats Pax gently and tries to protect his mate, even when that’s not what Pax wants or needs.
