Trip is very into the BDSM lifestyle, but he has yet to find the right man who can dominate him in the way he needs. He’s a little envious of his best friend Cameron, who seems to have found the perfect Dom in one of the tentacled aliens that have settled on Earth. While shopping for groceries one day, Trip is surprised to be hit on the head with a marshmallow tossed over the shelves from the next aisle. It’s soon followed by another. He realizes it’s one of the aliens throwing the marshmallows. Flustered, Trip pays for his groceries and leaves, only to find the alien standing by his car. The alien, who calls himself Maverick, comes on strong, but Trip doesn’t mind, especially with what Maverick does with his tentacles while making a date to take Trip to dinner.

This sequel to My Cameron is another fun and sexy romp into the world of tentacle porn. While the main characters are different in this story, you’ll probably need to have read the first book to get the full background on the aliens and their unique culture. As in the previous volume, the cultural gap between humans and the aliens is mined for a lot of humor.

Trip was introduced in the first book but didn’t play much of a role except as Cameron’s friend and sounding board. The young man was much more into the BDSM lifestyle than Cameron. Like his friend, Trip is not your typical submissive from kinky stories. He runs his own successful business and doesn’t need a full-time dominant to run his life. Submission provides a means for Trip to let go for a while and allow someone else do all the thinking.

We get a few short chapters from Maverick’s point of view. It’s not enough for us to completely understand the aliens’ way of thinking, but it adds to what we already know from the first book. I suppose you could make a comparison with the Vulcans of the Star Trek universe. The aliens in these stories are very logical, which is one of the reasons humans fascinate them so much, but they don’t have the cold detachment Vulcans are usually characterized by.
