Review - Suspects and Scales by Maz Maddox
My rating:
Note: This third book of the series is a direct sequel to the second, so if you haven’t read the previous book, be prepared for spoilers. As you’ll know from the cliff-hang-ey ending of Claw Marks and Card Games, Deputy Cody has just found his friend Wade murdered. Who would kill the gentle Iara (merman)? That’s what Cody is determined to find out, but things get complicated when Wade’s mother shows up, with her devoted assassin in tow.

Review - That Irresistible Poison by Alessandra Hazard
My rating:
Seyn was bonded to Ksar within days of his birth, which was even bought forward a couple of months for the purpose. But as Seyn starts to mature, he begins to realize that something is wrong with the bond. Not only does he not feel the connection to Ksar that other bond-mates feel, but his mate actively avoids any contact with Seyn, and when the younger man forces himself into Ksar’s presence, the older prince treats him with nothing but scorn and disdain.

Review - A Fine Mess by Angel Martinez
My rating:
One of Shax’s enemies may be dead, but there are still a few others out for the demon’s head. However, he, along with the rest of the crew, are tired of running and decide to take on their enemies. It’s a risky endeavor, especially with the latest members of the “crew” being a group of young children rescued from one of the people now carrying a grudge against Shax and his friends.

Review - Nailed by K.M. Neuhold
My rating:
Dare feels like he has the neighbor from hell. Every weekend the guy manages to wake him up way too early with some sort of intrusion, whether it’s mowing his lawn at the crack of dawn, or bringing in a petting zoo for the birthday party of his friend’s daughter. For his part, Stone enjoys winding his grumpy neighbor up. He doesn’t know why the man took such an instant dislike to him the moment he moved in, but paying him back gives him a strange pleasure.

Review - Blue Storm by Adara Wolf
My rating:
In a world where almost everyone can wield magic, being born without the ability means almost certain death. Without magic, you can’t know your true name, and without that a person soon loses touch with life. The only way to survive is if someone else uses their magic to bind you to this world, and them, by giving you a name. That makes you their slave, subject to every whim and sexual desire, and they can take away your name at any time, leaving you to waste away and possibly die unless someone else wants you for their plaything.
Review - Fearing the Dream by Ann Marie James
My rating:
Sergei spots Stuart at the wedding of mutual friends and starts chatting with him. Both are enjoying the conversation, but when Sergei suddenly leaves without getting Stuart’s phone number, Stuart just assumes that he’s not interesting enough for the Russian-born business man. Turned out by his parents when he reached 18 simply because he was surplus to requirements, it’s no surprise Stuart has some self-esteem issues. Sergei is much the opposite.

Review - Born Daddy by Morticia Knight
My rating:
Kindly note that I was supplied with an Advance Review Copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for this honest review. Rogan is an ex-undercover policeman who now teaches at the academy. As our story begins, he’s just about to attend the funeral of a man he’s known since high school. A man who turned out to be a sadistic serial killer that lured young men then tortured them to death.
