Review - Troth by E. H. Lupton

Sam and Ulysses have taken their relationship to the next step by renting an apartment and moving in together. Things are far from settled, though, as Sam continues to attract unwanted attention from both government agents and the remnants of his grandfather’s team of scientists who were trying to create demigods. To complicate things, Ulysses’ brother Lazarus is back from service in Vietnam, and clearly has his own issues to deal with.

Review - Can't Help Falling in Love with an Alien by Chloe Archer

Sci-fi nerd River is settling into his relationship with his tentacled alien boyfriend Kai. They’re both also working together for the Alliance, trying to track down an elusive drug dealer working to expose the presence of aliens on Earth. The reappearance of Kai’s old boyfriend trying to get close to him again doesn’t make things any easier. This second book of the Tentacular Tales series continues the hilarious adventures of River Sullivan, a young man very into contemporary science fiction and author of an erotic serial of his own, which turns out to be read throughout the galaxy.

Josh is happy Noah and Indy have found each other, even if Noah still needs Josh’s “help” to calm down sometimes. He just wishes that he could find someone to give him what he needs, but would anyone out there be crazy enough to want Josh with his PTSD, his codependent relationship with Noah, and his need to be dominated? Police officer Conner was attracted to Josh the moment he saw him when Conner responded to the robbery of the store where Josh and Indy first met.

Amory’s childhood friend Tristan and Phillip’s cousin Etan once seemed on their way to having a relationship. Then Tristan acquiesced to his dying father’s wish to marry and start a family. That hurt Etan more than he would admit to anyone, leaving him no choice but to cut himself off from the friend he once thought could be more.

Kaspar is a thief. He’s very good at picking locks and stealing valuables from people’s homes. It’s not a life he would have chosen, but as an orphaned child on the streets, the other options were far worse. He ends up working for a crime boss who runs drugs and brothels. Things Kasper doesn’t want to be associated with. To get out, the boss orders him to do one last job: steal something valuable from a jewelry shop called The Dragon’s Treasure in Edge city.
Review - The Aliens' Incubator by Troy Montgomery
My rating:
Dylan is just about to finish his shift at the pizza parlor when a call comes in for a delivery. He reluctantly agrees to take the delivery on his way home, but the address turns out to be in the middle of the woods. He is just returning to his car when vines seem to attack and hold him down while doing things to his body that are both pleasurable and frightening.

Twenty-year-old Patrick is waiting tables in a French restaurant at the top of one of Washington, DC’s posh hotels. On a night out at a club, Patrick meets “David,” who claims to be a Persian prince. David really is a prince, and the two have great chemistry, but David makes it clear that he’ll one day have to do his duty, marry a woman and produce heirs.
Review - Damnatio by S.P. Somtow
My rating:
Sporus is on his way to Greece with Nero, after the emperor had the young man’s genitals removed so that he would remain looking forever young, in the image of the Empress Poppaea, whom Nero killed in a fit of rage. The onetime slave may now be Empress of Rome, but in every way that matters, Sporus has less freedom than when he belonged to Petronius. I had thought that this third book would be the final in the series, but there’s now a fourth book announced.

Review - The Ugly Duckling by Sean Michael

Brook agrees to a blind date that his old friend set up. His date turns out to be Ducky, one of a group of boys that bullied Brook in high school. They’ve both grown up since then. Brook is no longer the geeky kid, but a ballet dancer. Ducky is apologetic over his bad behavior and the two hit it off in a big way. “The Ugly Duckling” is a very short romance tale about two men finding a connection.

Review - Fox of Fox Hall by R. Cooper
My rating:
Fox was orphaned at a young age. Neighboring farmers took him in for a while, but his youth and small size meant he wasn’t much good for farm work, and sooner or later, Fox was just another mouth to feed. So, the youth found himself on his own, but he was clever, had a good ear for music, and an excellent memory for all the popular ballads of the day.
