He had another wife and son who lived in a big mansion in a posh neighborhood, while Aidan and his mother were the man’s dirty little secret with a modest house on the other side of town. They didn’t even know the man’s real name until Aidan’s mother found out and kicked him out. Things went downhill for Aidan and his mother after that.

Six years later, both men are older and wiser. Si returned to Glastonbury soon after leaving Zig. For his part, Zig found his moral compass and parted ways with his father.

Boston police officer Jason is badly injured when the undercover operation he was involved in almost went sideways. Now, both of the crime families he helped take down are out for his blood before he can testify. Staying in the hospital, where he should be, makes him a sitting duck, so the FBI moves him into a safe house under the watchful eye of Special Agent Phil Harland. He should be safe, except it looks like there’s a mole in the police or the FBI, or both, and it turns out Phil is Jason’s old high school rival.

My rating:
Brody and Miller have been best friends since high school. They remained so even after Miller came out. The two are often so close that people mistake them for boyfriends even though Brody is straight. The problem is that Miller has been in love with Brody almost since they met, and it has become torture to be around him. Sensing the distance Miller has started to put between them, Brody enters them in a contest for newlyweds, partly as a joke.

It’s Apollo’s fate to become the sun god, but he keeps putting off ascending. He doesn’t want to become a god, like his father Zeus, who demands offerings of sacrifice and food from humans who are starving, then wipes out entire villages on a whim. Zeus is becoming increasingly impatient with his half-human son. He gives Apollo an ultimatum: either he ascends now, or spends a year with the human Prince Hyacinth learning how a “good” son behaves.

Johnny plays drums in a band with his two half-brothers and Zimri, who Johnny has been secretly in love with for years. The band appears to be about to enter the big time when their manager, Johnny’s stepmother, announces some changes. Johnny is out. He just isn’t cute enough for pop music, even though he writes most of the lyrics for the band’s songs. Zimri quits the band as well in protest and convinces Johnny they can make it on their own.

Tate’s short temper has gotten him into trouble, and not for the first time. He’s arrested after getting into a brawl at a stop sign. Problem is, he was on his way home from a robbery at the time, so the police have him on that as well. Tate is surprised when he is released without charge on the orders of Ramsey, a man who says he was a friend of Tate’s late mother.
Review - Lost in the Woods by Crystal D. Budy
My rating:
Carter and Max continue their quest to pull down the Appalachian Order, a cult-like crime ring dealing in drugs, guns and human trafficking, which Max’s father is heavily involved in. The two also grow ever closer, but it’s difficult with Max’s erratic behavior resulting from the abuse he suffered as a child and with his husband. It doesn’t help that his ex keeps trying to re-insert himself into Max’s life.

Vampire Henry is several hundred years old. Over the centuries, he has turned his hand to many things. Now, in the mid-eighteenth century, he is in publishing, but he needs a new personal secretary. His mind wanders too much to keep track of everything that needs to be done. Theophilus comes highly recommended, and Henry is instantly taken with the handsome yet reserved young man. Theophilus doesn’t know his employer is a vampire.

My rating:
Melis is the god of bees and honey, and desire. He’s among the youngest of the gods and a bit of an outcast. King Antero is one of the god’s most ardent followers. Antero is reputed to be very handsome, but has yet to find a suitable companion, someone who wants him for who he is rather than because he’s the king. He prays to Melis often for help in his quest.
