Review - Pool of Dreams by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes
My rating:
Fae Syren has been alone in his forest pool for 300 years, ever since his human lover sacrificed himself to help create a “break” between the human and fae worlds. Otherwise, the fae, led by a cruel prince, would have wiped out the humans. Syren was the only fae left on the human side, and his only company, aside from the magical sword that killed his beloved, is a bluebird he named Beryl.

My rating:
Unlike his brothers, Malcolm has no problem being an incubus. His father may be an evil bastard, but at least he's a rich evil bastard who can buy Malcolm nice clothes and get them into clubs where there are lots of pretty humans to pick from. It's a long way from the squalor he grew up in with his drug-addict mother, and Malcolm has no intention of going back. Kosta is a siren who has turned his back on his kind.
Review - Wyrmwood by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes
My rating:
Declan is not your typical incubus. He lives a largely isolated life in the penthouse he shares with his siblings and doesn't go out to 'hunt' humans. When he can no longer resist the need to 'feed,' he orders a sex worker to satisfy his hunger. Never the same one twice to avoid the inevitable attachment a human would feel for his kind. The one thing that can lure Declan outside is the sea.

My rating:
Jasper just wants to be loved for real, for who he is rather than what he is. For an incubus, that's a bad thing. The pheromones he produces make him irresistible to most humans, so it's impossible to tell if someone is attracted to him or just under the influence of his spell. Caleb is happy living alone in his somewhat isolated cabin in the woods, but that's not unusual for a bear.

My rating:
Homeless and living on the street since his father threw him out for being gay, of all the humans taken by the Thorzen, Beau has the fewest reasons to ever want to return to earth. He may be kept in a cell in a lab, but he's fed and doesn't seem to be in any danger, even if the lab's leader Crux does sneer at him. And there's definitely a small bright spot: Crux's son Vorian, who just about everyone avoids, seems to have take an interest in Beau that is more than a little friendly.

My rating:
Wesley is a talented software developer, working on video games. But his work is mostly on short term contracts that never turn into full time jobs, so he lives from contract to contract with hardly anything saved up and no idea how he's going to pay the mortgage on the house he inherited from his parents. In a way, getting kidnapped by big blue aliens may be the best thing to happen to the young man who has always dreamed of exploring the stars.

My rating:
Lucas is stuck in a minimum wage job as a barista, because what use is a history degree. His boyfriend left him and is about to be married. And, he took their cat. Could his life get any worse? Somehow, “kidnapped by aliens” never even figured as a possible answer to that question. Only, these aliens are big, blue and very buff. And, one of them seems to have taken a liking to Lucas.
