Review - The Elegant Corpse
My rating: 
Roger Corso is a detective with the LAPD, and a more tightly wound individual would be hard to imagine. He could make Joe Friday look like a loose cannon and Felix Unger look like a slob (★). Part of that is just who he is, but there’s also a defensive wall around the part of him that still grieves for his dead lover. He also has to be on guard about his private life.

Review - Afflicted

Hunter is blind, but fiercely independent. The quickest and easiest way to piss him off is to treat him with any kind of pity. He has escaped the clutches of an over-protective mother, built a life and a business of his own, and he’s not going back. The only thing missing from his life is someone to share it with. In the gay world, which puts such a high emphasis on bodily perfection, Hunter’s disability is a major barrier.

Josh is a young man with a powerful submissive urge. He yearns to please a master and be loved and cherished in return, but so far he’s been unable to find a master that he clicks with. James is a young man studying in university, and in an unusual relationship with two other men, Carl and Dane. The other two men are also students, as well as mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters. James himself is something of a pacifist. He dreads fight nights, when he has to watch one or both of his lovers get beaten in a cage.

Alan Ambrose is a very lucky young man. The twenty year-old is enjoying a night out in London with his friend Tabitha when he is picked up by a handsome older man, Archie. Archie takes Alan home to his London townhouse, where it soon becomes clear that the man is very well off. In the morning, Archie invites Alan to stay and even buys him an expensive watch to entice the young man to stick around.

Reviewer’s note: In the interest of full disclosure, I feel I should note that I’ve come to know the author of this book, in that ephemeral not completely trustworthy way one gets to know people on-line. Reviews are supposed to be about the book, not the author, but what I know from the author has certainly colored my interpretation of the book. Joe is a 22 year-old young man just starting out in working life after college.

Review - More Fun With Dick and Shane

The houseboy is back, and he’s still in good form. Like the first book, there’s no real plot to this ‘memoir’. It’s mostly in the form of a diary with a few longer stories interspersed in. ‘Gilli’ is a 25 year-old houseboy and submissive ‘boy’ lover to two older ‘daddy’ doms, Dick and Shane. It isn’t always easy for the impulsive and headstrong young man to live up to the expectations his daddies place on him.
