Review - Waiting for Ru by Barbara Elsborg

My rating:

Kindly note: If you haven't read some of the earlier books of this series, this review contains spoilers about some of the events in them. Ruari – “Ru” – is still adjusting to his new reality. Kidnapped by his aunt and uncle when he was eight years old, he was told his parents and brother were dead, and kept in isolation so he couldn't find out differently. In the second book of this series, Long Way Back, Ru found out that his family wasn't dead, and that his brother had been imprisoned for Ru's murder.

Review - Reinventing Cato by Barbara Elsborg

My rating:

After a few disastrous relationships, Cato decides to avoid romantic entanglements, never spending more than a night with people he meets in bars, often not even knowing their name. But as midnight approaches on New Years Eve at a party he'd rather not be at, Cato resolves to become a better person, to “reinvent” himself. Vigge is not quite out at work, where he's a police detective. He doesn't trust easily and has some rather heavy baggage from his childhood.

Review - The Making of Jonty Bloom by Barbara Elsborg

My rating:

Devan walked in on his fiance and brother having sex, the day before his wedding. Several months later he still has to keep a tight lid on his anger, which is made all the harder when said brother announces plans to marry the ex. Since they work together, Devan’s boss decides he needs a break and assigns him to check out a potential hotel acquisition on the Northumberland coast. Jonty is the night manager at the hotel, and is still on duty when a guest he quickly dubs “Mr Impossible” tries to check in at 9:00 am.
