Review - The Brightness Between Us by Eliot Shrefer
My rating:
It’s been 17 years since Kodiak and Ambrose landed on the planet they were sent to colonize. The planet was not the earthly paradise they were expecting. Few of the plants and animals they bought with them can grow well, and only two of the children whose embryos they grew have survived. There were so many deaths they stopping trying. Back on earth, 30,000 years earlier, the original Ambrose and Kodiak are dealing with the truth: There never was a rescue mission to Titan.

Review - The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Shrefer
My rating:
Ambrose wakes up on board his ship, and is told by the craft's AI that he was injured during the launch and has been in a coma. He remembers all his training for this special mission to rescue his sister, who was sent to see if Saturn's moon Titan could be colonized, but he doesn't remember getting on board the ship or the accident that apparently injured him. There's something else that's concerning: Ambrose's ship has been joined to another craft, that of his country's primary competitor, and that ship is occupied by another spacefarer, Kodiak.
