Review - Lost in the Woods by Crystal D. Budy
My rating:
Carter and Max continue their quest to pull down the Appalachian Order, a cult-like crime ring dealing in drugs, guns and human trafficking, which Max’s father is heavily involved in. The two also grow ever closer, but it’s difficult with Max’s erratic behavior resulting from the abuse he suffered as a child and with his husband. It doesn’t help that his ex keeps trying to re-insert himself into Max’s life.

Review - Sunrise in a Storm by Crystal D. Budy
My rating:
Spoiler alert: This review of the second Polaris Mysteries book may contain spoilers for the first story. Nick and Carter are trying to figure out what they want to be to each other. They’re definitely attracted to each other, but their lives are experiencing a lot of turmoil right now, so it doesn’t seem like the best time to start something, especially with Max’s soon-to-be ex-husband in the background. When one of the young men the pair encountered previously comes asking for help to find his boyfriend, the pair reluctantly agrees to help, which puts them back on the trail of Carter’s brother, who disappeared months ago.

Review - A Light in the Darkness by Crystal D. Budy
My rating:
When Max receives word that his father has had a heart attack, he doesn’t really want to return to the small town he ran away from many years ago, but knows he must. It doesn’t take long before Max runs into Carter, the one boy from his high school class that wasn’t impressed by the power and wealth of Max’s family. Carter now owns the small town’s first and only gay bar.
