Review - Hell to Pay by Zen DiPietro

My rating:

Cabot Layne and his unlikely team just seem to keep getting sucked deeper into their involvement with the Planetary Alliance (PAC) as everyone seeks to avoid the impeding conflict with the invading Barony coalition. The situation makes for unlikely bedfellows, such as the PAC and notorious crime boss Ditnya Caine. While “Hell to Pay” still features the finely tuned writing of this series, it doesn’t really advance the story or the characters very far.

Review - Blood Money by Zen DiPietro

My rating:

Mild-mannered trader Cabot Layne agrees to under-take another mission for Chief of Security Fallon of Dragonfire Station. The task seems simple enough: locate someone who is also a well known trader, who was helping Fallon’s team, yet has dropped out of communication. To help him out, Cabot once again enlists the aid of his old friend Omar, and reluctantly Omar’s sister Nagali, who is also Cabot’s ex-wife. Fallon sends one of her team, Peregrine, as well, making for a rather strange quartet.

Review - Selling Out by Zen DiPietro

My rating:

To most people on Dragonfire Station, Cabot Layne is a simple, friendly shopkeeper, selling trinkets and other things of interest to the different species flowing off the many ships calling on the station. A few know that Cabot is a much more skilled trader than he lets on, with the connections to acquire almost anything one could want, even if it’s not quite legal. So, when a rogue coalition at the edge of planetary alliance space starts to threaten the peace, Security Chief Fallon calls on Cabot to make the deal of a life-time by negotiating a special pact with the reptilian Briven.
