Get Your Free Copy of Journey to Rai-Lay
A little over a week ago I got started on the third and final book in my “Journey” series, which will be called Journey’s End. I’m probably about a quarter of the way through it already, and I’m pleased with how it’s going so far. This story brings Piero and Plai from Journey to Angkor together with Henry and Kung from Journey to Rai-Lay for a grand adventure. The book will probably be published around the start of next year, if the writing continues to go well.

Review - Hell's Pawn
My rating:
This book was a really pleasant surprise. It was a really nice change from what I have been reading lately, and reminded me how much I like a good sci-fi/alternate universe story. It was my first reading love, before puberty got me interested in sex and smut. Bell has crafted a very believable vision of the afterlife, where the various belief systems of humanity - Christian, Hindu, Celt, ancient Egyptian, etc.

Background: Thai/Siamese Names
I was talking about my latest work-in-progress, “Claiming David” (as I’m now calling it), over at Goodreads, and a comment from another poster led me to think maybe I should give some background on Thai names - and more importantly, nicknames - for those unfamiliar with the culture and history of the country formerly known as Siam. Like people almost everywhere in the world, Thais have given names and family names.

Review: A Dish Served Cold
My rating:
This wasn’t exactly the story I was expecting, so my reaction and review of it may be colored by that. The mention of slavery in the description, as well as the BDSM genre classifications, had me expecting a m/s story, and this is NOT that. In fact, I would argue that there’s not a shred of ‘real’ BDSM action in this book. There’s some forced sex, and a fair amount of bondage and discipline that has nothing to do with sex.
Background: Erotic Temples of Central Java
I just got back from a trip to Central Java, Indonesia. The main purpose of the trip was to update and expand my travel guide, but I was also hoping to find some inspiration for the third - and final - book in the Journey series, which reunites Piero (from Journey to Angkor) and Henry (from Journey to Rai-Lay). There are a couple of interesting old temples in this region that I'm hoping to work into the story.

Beta Readers Wanted for Deconstructing David
I’ve more or less finished the first draft of my latest book, which I’m calling “Deconstructing David”, at least for now. As it stands, the book is right at 41,000 words, or about 120 pages if it was a printed book. The story is told from the point of view of David, a 40-something American living in Bangkok, and facing something of a mid-life crisis. After more than a dozen years living in Thailand, he has become disillusioned and is considering returning to the states for the first time.

Review: The Hadrian Enigma - A Forbidden History
My rating:
Hadrian and Antinous is one of the great true love stories of gay history, so anything to do with it is sure to get my attention. This is a difficult book to rate, because it seems to try to cross genres and doesn’t do it very successfully. Still, it is obviously a very well-researched story.
Work in Progress: My Writing Addiction
So, I’m writing again. It’s becoming something of an addiction, as I had planned to take a bit of a break before diving into the third (and final) book of the Journey series. But a new idea took root in my head, and it seems that now I’m in the ‘habit’ of writing, story ideas continue developing and bouncing around my head, becoming increasingly distracting, until I write them down.

Review: Transgressions
My rating:
I’ve always enjoyed Erastes work, especially Mere Mortals, which was the last of her works I read. Unfortunately, Transgressions failed to capture my imagination. There’s nothing I can put my finger on as to why the book didn’t do it for me, and it’s probably not any one thing. This is a much longer work than most of Erastes’ books, and it does move along rather slowly in the beginning, as her books do.
Now Available From Amazon!
All three of my books are now available from Amazon (US, UK and Germany). They’re only available in Kindle format, of course, but if you purchase from Amazon, then the books are delivered seamlessly to your Kindle reader(s), which I find very convenient. The books, with links to the Amazon pages, are shown in the box below.
