Review - Dark Space by Lisa Henry
My rating:
Brady was conscripted at sixteen into the space force defending Earth from the Faceless, a highly advanced alien race. He left his father and little sister behind. Three years into his ten year term, Brady wants nothing more than to go home. Life on one of the military space stations defending the solar system is not nearly as exciting as the recruiting posters made out. Then again, the young man featured in most of the posters, Cameron, was taken prisoner by the Faceless five years ago, the only human taken prisoner rather than killed outright.

Review - Dauntless by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock
My rating:
The residents of Dauntless Island are proud of their history as mutineers who lynched their tyrannical captain after being shipwrecked on the island 200 years ago. Joe is a direct descendant of the leader of the revolt and is well aware of the power that gives him on the island, although he is careful about how he exercises that control. Eddie is a history graduate student descended from the captain the mutineers lynched.
Review - The Boy Who Belonged
My rating:
Derek and his sub Lane are getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas together, and perhaps the only one who is more surprised than Derek is Lane. The much younger Lane was someone Derek was prepared to hate on sight. His parents cheated Derek and hundreds of other people out of their life savings in a Ponzi scheme. For a while it looked like Lane himself was involved, but it eventually turned out that he, like Derek, was simply used and duped by his own parents.
