On hot summer evenings in Texas, high schooler Ben likes to take a walk through the park near his north Houston home. It’s not a cool breeze Ben is after, but a glimpse of the boy he has a crush on. Ben doesn’t even know the guy’s name at first, but soon finds out it is Tim. The two go to the same high school, but their paths rarely cross once school starts.
Review - Hell's Pawn

This book was a really pleasant surprise. It was a really nice change from what I have been reading lately, and reminded me how much I like a good sci-fi/alternate universe story. It was my first reading love, before puberty got me interested in sex and smut. Bell has crafted a very believable vision of the afterlife, where the various belief systems of humanity - Christian, Hindu, Celt, ancient Egyptian, etc.
